Apartment building in the foothills of the Olicke Mountains
Fogl, Martin ; Nespěšný, Ondřej (referee) ; Pěnčík, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis aims to design a new four-story apartment building with a partial basement and prepare project documentation for the construction phase. The building object is set in a slightly sloping terrain of the town Letohrad in the foothills of the Orlicke Mountains. The proposal respects the surrounding buildings and all the city's binding documents, especially the zoning plan and the zoning study of the locality Nad Bažantnicí. There will be twelve new housing units on the upper floors, which correspond to current construction trends with their layout and material features. New tenants await attractive urban housing in mountainous areas. The underground floor above part of the building will be used to store household equipment, cellars, and technical facilities. It is also advantageous that the highest part of the apartment building is in the more load-bearing layers of the subsoil. The apartment building is based on plain concrete foundation strips, lined with sand-lime masonry blocks and covered with single-layer flat roofs, ready for the placement of photovoltaic panels and alternative energy sources. The perimeter masonry will be contact-insulated with a system with classic layer order and ETICS certification. Facade polystyrene will be used as a thermal insulator.
