Content of cesium-137 in fungi in selected localities in the Novohradské hory
SCHNEIDEROVÁ, Kateřina
The Novohradské Mountains were increasingly contaminated with cesium-137 in places where large amounts of radiocesium were washed out of the radioactive cloud caused by the accident of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant on April 26, 1986. Another source of cesium-137 was the testing of nuclear weapons, which was in the 50s and 60s of the 20th century carried out in the atmosphere of nuclear powers. From contaminated soil, cesium-137 enters the food chain and thus causes internal contamination of the population. For this reason, the activity concentration of cesium-137 in food (especially in edible mushrooms) is regularly determined. The aim of this thesis was to compare the activity concentrations of cesium-137 in samples of edible fungi collected in selected localities of the Novohradské Mountains. Transfer factors in individual fungal species were determined and compared. The thesis also focused on the comparison of the activity concentration of cesium-137 in the cap and in the stem of the mushroom. The samples were measured by gamma spectrometry. The values of activity concentration of cesium-137 in edible mushrooms differed according to their classification into the systematic group. Higher values of activity concentrations were measured in basidiomycete fungi compared to lower values recorded in gill fungi. High values of activity concentrations of cesium-137 have been repeatedly found, especially in the imleria badia (Xerocomus badius). The lowest value of the activity concentration of cesium-137 was measured in the representative of the parasol mushroom (Macrolepiota procera). The transfer factor as a ratio between the activity concentration of cesium-137 in the mushroom and the activity of cesium-137 in the soil is an important parameter for estimating the dose of internal exposure to radionuclides that a person receives in contaminated foods. The highest determined transfer factors were calculated for imleria badia (Xerocomus badius), the blusher (Amanita rubescens) and golden chanterelle mushroom (Cantharellus cibarius). Out of a total of 58 samples, in 78 % of the samples the values of the activity concentration of cesium-137 in the cap were higher than the values of the activity concentration in the stem and in 22 % of the samples the activity concentrations in the cap were lower than in its stem. The determined cap/stem ratio confirmed that three quarters of the edible mushrooms examined preferentially accumulated cesium-137 in the cap and one quarter of the mushrooms more accumulated cesium-137 more in their stem.
Společenstva rozsivek oligo - mesotrofních rybníků Novohradských hor
HRUBÝ, František
This thesis focuses on diatoms of little studied water reservoirs of the Novohradské hory area. During the 2019, three seasonal samples were collected. At all five sampling sites various environmental parameters were measured. A total of 321 taxa were identified, a large proportion of which are classified as boreo-alpine, rare or indicative of very good water quality. The available data were used to calculate diatom indices and to determine the saprobity and trophy of the Novohradské hory reservoirs. The similarity of the communities of each sampling type was compared and discussed using the statistical program Canoco.
The concept proposal of the red deer population management in the Kaplice region
BODNÁR, Lukáš
The main objective of my master thesis was to research the current state of red deer breeding in the Kaplice region and to propose the concept of the management of the red deer populations for the future. In two hunt seasons I measured 23 red deer medal trophies and 17 red deer antlers. So many medal trophies contradict all the arguments about the low quality of population of red deer in Novohradské mountain and the necessity to liquidate of this population. In two hunt seasons 50 jawbones of does and calves were collected. The age structure, specified according to the jawbones, proved the fact, that young game are in the population of red deer. In the population there are more females than males. This fact proves the analysis of the game census and notes of game hunting. The result is, that the best solution of red deer breeding is to establish The red deer breeding region Novohradské hory.

Geoportál přírodního parku Novohradské Hory
ZETKOVÁ, Štěpánka
This bachelor thesis focuses on a process of Novohradské hory natural park map portal creation. The theoretical part is trying to explain the importance of a geoportal as well as of a tool for its creation. After that follows planning of the project preparation and explanation of the chosen natural park territory, its characteristic and protection. Practical part resumes with the creation of the geoportal itself including addition of thematic applications on natural environments, its protection, territorial development and tourism. Moreover, the geoportal contains presentation of theses written by students of JU in České Budějovice, which relates to the research of the park territory. The final geoportal applications have been published with a help of webpages.
Distribution of neophyte Impatiens glandulifera in Novohradské hory
KROBOVÁ, Gabriela
The main goal of this research is to discover, study and chart the habitat of Impatiens glandulifera in the area of "Novohradské hory". During this research I have recorded the distribution of populations of both the Impatiens glandulifera and other dominant specimens found in the region. The study describes and charts 27 localities in 8 areas. Detecting and recording in each location the surface area, height of cover, amount of specimens, fruits and seeds that could be potentially produced. This research provides valuable occurrence information of Impatiens glandulifera, preconditions for distribution and competitiveness in a specific biotope.
Impact of different types of land cover on physical parameters of landscape surface
KUNTZMAN, Jan
The aim of the thesis was understanding the energy fluxes in different types of land cover. The area of interest is located in Novohradské hory in the basins of Váčkový and Pasecký potok. On a relatively small area there are five different types of land cover to be found (field, forest, permanent grassland, wetland and built-up area). For each of the types of land cover three properties of the surface were calculated: amount of vegetation on the surface, wetness of the surface and surface temperature. Moreover, soil heat flux, latent heat flux and sensible heat flux were established therefore surface thermal balance was evaluated. Results were statistically processed with boxplot diagrams as an outcome. The results support the hypothesis of vegetation having a positive effect on microclimate conditions. Especially the permanent cultures (wetlands, permanent grassland, forest) demonstrated much larger microclimatic stability and balance as well as capability of keeping moist. Thanks to insufficient intensity of vaporization (due to lack of water), built-up areas showed higher surface temperatures and sensible heat flux at most of the cases. Vegetation is capable of holding water and redistributing it in an environment via evapotranspiration. Thus, solar energy is stored inside of the water vapour which condensates on cool objects releasing the energy spent during the vaporization process. Water moves in the landscape through the local-scale water cycle stabilizing the microclimate.

The application of the geomorphosites concept in the tourist sector (Novohradské hory case study)
VOZANDYCH, Petr
The bachelor thesis evaluates and proposes potential use of geomorphosites in the travel industry (geotourism). The analysis is done on the example of a specific territory in Novohradské hory. The thesis involves a geographical characteristic of the territory, it describes the conditions of Novohradské hory region in more detail. The theoretical part of the text also introduces the concepts of geomorphosites and geotourism. Moreover, it provides an inventory of the assessed sites (Cikánský vrch, Kamenec, Kraví hora, Kuní hora, Kuřský vrch, Mrzenáč, Myslivna, Vysoká and Zaječí vrch). The emphasis of the thesis is the analysis of the geotourist potential focused especially on assessed geomorphosites. The author examines how those sites are linked tohiking paths, accommodation facilities, and selected points of interest. As a conclusion, appropriate ways of the useof the sites are proposed.
