Development and perspectives of maps of cities

The presented diploma thesis is concerned with analysing of contentual and graphical sides of historical, current and future maps of cities. The theoretical part describes historical development of the city maps up to date. Further there is outlined possible form of maps in the near future. The change of the forms is presented on example of the city of Nový Jičín. The main task of the practical part of the thesis was to make a new orientation map of the city of Nový Jičín. There are described the continuous steps of its creation completed with graphical samples. The city map is appendix of the thesis.

Kindergarten in Novy Jicin

Single-storey C-shaped building of kindergarten in Nový Jičín with flat green roof.The building is situated on the flat land. The plot is accessible by local road. Kindergarted has irregular plan. The ends are connected by connecting tunnel, which is partly below ground level. Courtyard facade is a vertical garden - green facade.

Urban analysis and public space theory for the 21st century

The main topic of this bachelor thesis is teory and analysis of public space. This work deals with analysis of trends and public space which i salso analyzed. This thesis begins with fundamental characteristics of Nový Jičín, it’s area and history. This characteristics is followed by theory based on thoughts and principes of Danish architect and urbanist Jan Gehl and Czech architect and urbanist Jan Jehlík. Jehlík’s theory deals with complex approach to tasks of an urbanism that deals with whole spectrum of forms of public spaces. This part is focused on form and types of places. Next topic is analysis of trends of living, secure, and sustainable city built on physical perception of public space, with emphasis on psychical perception of a human located on it. This part is based on ideas of Jan Gehl. Practical part of this thesis are analyzes of Masaryk’s square in Nový Jičín. The main goal of these analyzes is evaluation of the square’s actual condition and quality of life. Analyzes consist of individual parts such as broader relations of the space and it’s continuity in terms of it’s city layout, functional analysis and a level of civil.

Práce se zaměřuje především na jejich podřízenost se skladbou obyvatelstva a také s politickou reprezentací. Práce se také snaží o přiblížení témat, kterým se dané lokální tiskoviny věnovaly. Na praktické ukázce titulu Nové Kravařsko je ilustrováno jak tematické zaměření titulu, tak také jeho propojení s místní politickou scénou. Na tomto příkladu je dále ilustrována proměna témat titulu a proměna stylu jednotlivých příspěvků. Práce zároveň přináší první ucelenější přehled lokálních titulů, které v oblasti vycházely v době těsně před 2. světovou válkou, až do roku 1948. Prognostic estimate of needed capacity of facilities providing care for elderly in Nový Jičín District until the year 2030

The main aim of the thesis is to estimate a needed capacity of nursing homes and houses with home help services in the district Nový Jičín. The year 2030 was chosen as a time horizon. Current facilities, age and sex structure of their users in this district were described by means of field inquiry. The proportion of users of facilities was estimated from real population of the district at specific age. Important part of the thesis is a forecast of population growth of the district, which was based on the previous population development there. This trend was compared with population development in Moravian-Silesian region and in the Czech Republic as a whole in the special chapter. The estimate of needed capacity of above-mentioned facilities connects the forecast of the future development of age structure of elderly with contemporary availability of the facilities providing care for elderly. The thesis also describes the development of facilities providing care for elderly in the Czech Republic, furthermore it analyses the factors that can influence demand for these facilities.

Možnosti řešení zahrad dětských domovů

Topic of children’s home gardens is still little explored. To a question, if it is even necessary to deal with this phenomenon, there is an answer, that in the Czech Republic there is roughly 5000 children growing up in children’s homes, who deserve dignified and stimulating environment. In the beginning this thesis discusses current state of children’s homes and their gardens in a theoretical point of view. It explores a legislative basis of the children’s homes concept and through references in the Czech Republic and abroad it sums up problems of children’s homes gardens and searches for possible approaches to designing them. In the practical part this thesis deals with Hückel villas in Nový Jičín, one of which is a building of children’s home. Based on relevant analysis merits and problems were evaluated and they were a starting point to an ideological study of Hückel villas and the children’s home garden. The garden was designed in 3 variations which were converted to a final design. All was consulted so that it is possible to implement the design. In conclusion there are some general recommendations for designing a children’s home garden.
