Benešová, Kateřina ; Čechura, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Chládek, Oldřich (referee)
In my diploma thesis, I will deal with the life of Zuzana Černínová, Czech noblewoman, wife of Jan Černín from Chudenice and mother of Humprecht Jan Černín. My aim will be to approach everyday life in the early modern culture, particularly in period of Bílá hora, through Zuzana Černínová, and her numerous correspondence with her son, which has been largely preserved and was published by František Dvorský and Zdeněk Kalista. From the comprehensive correspondence, I set apart the main topics that have become the base of my thesis. I will divide my thesis into two parts. In the first part I will deal with the definition of the term "everyday life" and here I will interpret all important life events such as birth, marriage, death and funeral, where I will focus closely on Zuzana Černínová and her family. In relation to these life events I will also include the widow's dowry and the legal requirements associated with it or the influence of illnesses on contemporary society. In the second part of my research, I will focus on the person of Zuzana Černínová. I am going to analyze her position of the noblewoman which changed before and after the death of her husband, the rights she acquired after the death of her husband and her situation. It also includes the different position of the noblewoman-widow when...

Trčkov archive as such does not exist. Thus the present paper had to be based on various editions of the sources, especially on works by Josef Pekař and Josef Janáček. Marie Magdaléna, born to the Lobkowitz family, has been married to Jan Rudolf Trčka of Lípa. Both spouses were economically very active and skilled managers. They never used to be politically active before the battle of Bílá Hora, and they attempted to assume a neutral and cautious attitude after the Prague defenestration. The individual chapters of this work deal with the family life, children, friends, economic activity and political attitudes of Marie Magdaléna Trčková in the context of the end of 16th century and the first few decades of the 17th century. Periods of her life are sorted chronologically, from her youth, marriage, family life, and her attitude both before Bílá Hora, as well as, more importantly, after the battle, when the house of Trček became greatly enriched by purchasing the...
