Interurban telegraph and telephone switchboard building in Prague's part Žižkov and representation of young Czechoslovak Republic by architecture The subject matter of the bachelor thesis is the building of telegraph and telephone exchange (PBX) Žižkov (located around the streets Fibichova, Křížkovského, Kubelíkova), built based on the project of architect Bohumír Kozák in 1922-1925. Focus of the thesis will be on the analysis of the style of the building, on its exterior in the National architectural style can be seen references to the Italian Renaissance. The building will be set into context of Bohumír Kozák's work. Special attention will be given to the comparation of the building with an PBX builidng bulit in Poděbrady in 1922-1924.It will also deal with the issue of monument protection and the placement of the building into the Žižkov block building and its place in the image of the city.The study will end up with options for future rebuilding and restoring.
