Montessori pedagogy in the Czech education

The thesis processes the use of Montessori pedagogy in the Czech environment. The introductory chapters of this thesis describe the life and work of Marie Montessori, the fundamental anthropological thoughts and principles, and the development of Montessori approach. The thesis maps out by descriptive method the current institutions and primary schools which operates in the Czech environment. The following chapters contain case studies of two Montessori primary schools in Prague. The results of this thesis show that the approach of Marie Montessori is not just a rigid conception, but that it is still capable of development in the living process in school practice.
Establishing a Montessori classes in common kindergarten.

This thesis about "The establishment of the class according to Montessori method in a common nursery school" is devoted to the basic principles of Maria Montessoris pedagogy and the possibility of setting up an alternative class with Montessori elements in a common nursery school. This method does not forget the essentials and legislation, which must be provided by the school in order to create an alternative class. The practical part is conceived as a quantitative research, which aims to map out the interest of parents, why they would choose the Montessori class, and define the main reasons why parents seek kindergarten for their children, where this alternative system of education is applied. Data was collected by questionnaire. Questions were responded by parents of children attending nursery school in Strakonice.
