Jana Zátková (1859-1933). Forgotten personality in the History of South Bohemia?
BÍLKOVÁ, Klára
The thesis aims to provide a more comprehensive survey of life and public activities of Jana Zátková, a notable native of České Budějovice. She made her mark on the history of the town not only as a wife of August Zátka, the leader of the České Budějovice Czechs, but also through her activities for the Czech youth and mainly through building the first Czech girls´ lyceum, the very first one in Bohemia. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is focused on the history of both native families of Jana Zátková (i.e. the Strandl and Klavík families). The second chapter describes her family background, childhood and upbringing till the marriage with August Zátka. The marriage itself is described in the third chapter which also presents August Zátka´s family background and public activities as well as the life stories of their three children. The last but one chapter deals with public activities of Jana Zátková in a ladies´ society called Ludmila. The last fifth chapter deals with the final years of her life.
The art patronage as a tool of representation of the Zátka family in České Budějovice
VOŠICKÁ, Šárka
The diploma thesis maps the activity of the Zátka family, a significant family from České Budějovice, in the cultural sphere. A view on atmosphere of 19th century and the beginning of 20th century will be presented via selected members of this family (Hynek, August and Vlastislav Zátka). The roots of their extended family will be summarized with emphasis on their role as founders and patrons in founding particular Czech organizations, companies and associations. The first part focuses on Zátkas' impulses and activities in cultural, political and economic sphere. The second part is dedicated to various family monuments, for example buildings (family mansions), statues or collecting activities.
Based on the Example of the Hluboká nad Vltavou Manor, Adam Franz of Schwarzenberg´s Residential Strategy at the Beginning of the 18th Century
IVANEGA, Jan
The Thesis Based on the Example of the Hluboká nad Vltavou Manor, Adam Franz of Schwarzenberg´s Residential Strategy at the Beginning of the 18th Century deals with research of usage ways of the Hluboká nad Vltavou manor in the era of Adam Franz of Schwarzenberg. The core of the debate is the commentary on the three mansions demonstrably used by the aristocracy ? the Hluboká nad Vltavou castle, Ohrada hunting mansion, and Libníč spa complex. The study, built up on the analysis of correspodence, prime-source plan and accounting documents, has proved that the Hluboká nad Vltavou manor was the main Czech property of the family before inheriting Eggenberg´s property in 1719. Its importance, given among others by the geographical position, was emphasized by building of the Ohrada hunting mansion. This served, among others, as a storage of hunting tools that were demonstrably used in other South Bohemian manors as well. I consider extensive adjustments of the castle area as further evidence of the prominent status of the Hluboká nad Vltavou Castle; especially building of the votive chapel in the expanded Libníč spa that served to the inhabitants of all the concerned manors. After gaining Eggenber property, the centre of Schwarzenberg´s stays in South Bohemia moved to Český Krumlov; and the Hluboká mansion lost its priviliged status after Adam František of Schwarzenberg´s death.
