Persian corridor to the USSR with American help under the Lend and Lease Act

This paper deals with the theme of the Persian Corridor, one of the supply routes selected for the support of the Soviet Union by Western Allies during the Second World War. The aim is to determine whether this assistance could have a major impact on the conduct of Eastern Front combat operations. The pre-war situation in Iran and Iraq and the relationship of these countries with the Word powers is described at the beginning of the thesis. At the same time, the importance of this region is explained from a strategic point of view. The second part of the thesis is divided into four chapters, each about the individual years of war and the events that took place in the region of Iraq and Iran. Each of these chapters lists the events directly affecting the supplies of war material and its quantity transported in that year. At the same time, each charter presents a description of the events that influenced the situation in the Soviet Union over the period, from the most important battles to the development of weapons production and material losses. The last charter summarizes the data provided in previous chapters and shows the overall picture of deliveries in individual years and their total volume.
