Car-battery charger
Kadlec, Josef ; Procházka, Petr (referee) ; Červinka, Dalibor (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is considered by projection and construction of the car battery charger with switching source. One-pulsed conducting changer is base of this charger. The charger is intended for accumulators of nominate voltage 6 and 12V. Accumulators are charged by method of constant voltage with current limitation of 0.5A, 5A, 20A and 50A. Value 50A has reason during stating of car for example in winter, because the charger helps to battery. The device is equipped with additional protection, which protects the charger and also the accumulator and the supply network. Three pilot lights are the next equipment of the device.
Intelligent charger for lead-acid accumulators 12V/130A with an option "start-car"
Láznička, Martin ; Červinka, Dalibor (referee) ; Vorel, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is considered on a basic description of car battery charger with a support function “start-car”. A switching power supply creates a base of the equipment-this is why the charger is compact and easily portable. It is designed for 6V and 12V batteries. A charging by a constant voltage with a current limitation (to 0.5A, 5A or 20A) is used. The charger maximal current is 120A for a short-term load, so a proposal of an appropriate thermal protection is included in the project.
Evaluation Of Temperature Influence on Lead-Acid Battery Properties
Langer, Martin ; Zimáková, Jana (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with lead-acid batteries, their properties and individual types that are available on the market. The temperature dependences of the battery parameters at different ambient temperatures and at different discharging and charging modes are measured here. The theoretical part of the work deals with electrochemical cells in general, description of their main parts and principles of operation. The work analyzes the types of batteries used, their advantages and negatives. In the case of a lead-acid battery, its internal structure and the function of the electrodes and the electrolyte are taken into account. Furthermore, a description of individual possible negative phenomena that take place in lead-acid batteries and contribute to the end of their service life is included. In the practical part, 6 batteries are tested at different charging currents, which provides information about their behavior both during discharge and at the time of charging. During the experiments, testing is not only performed at room temperature, but the batteries are also exposed to high temperatures up to 75 ° C.
Starting Battery
Mach, Martin ; Huzlík, Rostislav (referee) ; Hájek, Vítězslav (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis describes construction and functioning of starting battery. This thesis is separated to parts as electrochemical current source, possibilities of sorting and characterization of accumulators which are used as starting battery. One part is about constructions of starting battery which are available and description of electrical parameters. Next part includes correct functioning and service. Last part of this thesis describes a project of laboratory exercise containing a measurement on starting battery.
Exploring the influence of pressure on the life of lead acid batteries for hybrid electric vehicles
Čech, Tomáš ; Křivík, Petr (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The goal of the thesis is to study literature and to become familiar with problems of accumulators operating in the mode of hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). To work up problems of a potential impact of the influence on the system of the lead accumulator. Assemble the experimental cells with discontinuous system of parallel fins and to treat them with different operating modes. Then to evaluate the results.
The combined effect of glass fibers and carbon as a negative electrode additive on the properties of the lead accumulator.
Bouška, Marek ; Chladil, Ladislav (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis is focused on a lead accumulator working in Partial State of Charge (PSoC) mode which is used in hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). Discussed topics are electric current source, hybrid electric vehicles or operation principle of a lead accumulator. The main task of this project is to examine the combined effect of glass fibers and carbon as an additive in negative active material and determine the most convenient combination which will improve properties of a lead accumulator working in PSoC.
Verification series of fast-chargers for lead-acid accumulators 12V and 6V
Benada, Tomáš ; Huták, Petr (referee) ; Vorel, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis is an engineering design of an intelligent fast-charger for lead-acid accumulators. It contains calculations of each component. The switching power supply is the mainstay of the charger that makes the charger portable, lightweight and small. The Intelligent fast-charger for lead-acid accumulators charges the accumulator by method of constant voltage with current limitation of 0,5A, 5A, 10A, 50A. 50A current is used in winter during starting of a car, when the battery can´t provide sufficient current. There are three LEDs placed on the front side of the charger reflecting status of the device. The device comprises safety protection for the charger, supply network and battery.
Switched battery charger
Špatenka, Vojtěch ; Kubíček, Michal (referee) ; Kovář, Jan (advisor)
My bachelor thesis deals proposal of switch battery charger and with an issue of charging lead-acid accumulators. It describes their attributes and charging characteristics. Futhermore, it describes a concept and a construction of a switch-mode power supply for charging of these accumulators. The design of a switch-mode power supply according to the programme PI EXPERT 7, the design of an impulsive compensator, the choise of a framework and a centre core, a full-scale scheme of a connection, the design of a PCB, a materials scheduling and their layout on the plate. A concept of controls of the switch-mode power supply using single-chip microprocessor C8051F320 HQ manufactured by Silicon Laboratories. A scheme of integration, a concept of the printed circuit board and a specification of components. At the end of the bachelor thesis was made a suitable chassis from the polycarbonate material. The results and the evaluation of the basic parameters of the of the switch-mode power supply are included.
The inverter based battery charger
Kadlec, Josef ; Pazdera, Ivo (referee) ; Červinka, Dalibor (advisor)
The aim of this master’s thesis is provide detailed information about car battery’s charger with a switching power supply. The kind of this power supply is one-pulsed conducting inverter with transformer. The charger’s rates of nominal voltage are 6 and 12 V. The method of charging is charging by constantly voltage with a current limitation. The values of a current limitations are 0.5A, 5A and 20A. The charger’s maximal current is 50A. This current can help to the accumulator with starting of a vehicle. This device is equipped by indicators which indicate the end of charging.
Intelligent charger for Pb accumulators
Hadwiger, Tomáš ; Šebesta, Jiří (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor project deals with lead accumulator charging. The properties of this acumulator charger are described here and the best possible way of charging has been based on these properties. The capacity of the accumulators has also been taken into account. The charger itself is able to distinguish between the twelve-volt and the six-volt accumulator. The charger prevents accumulators from overcharging and does not charge damaged ones.It also contains the protection against reversing polarity. The project contains complete scheme, DSP layout, lists of components and their placement on the DPS. The design of the transformator suitable for the charger is also included.
