Valuation of the stock title Komerční banka

The bachelor thesis is concerned with fundamental analysis of stock title Komerční banka, a.s., quoted on the Prague Stock Exchange. Its main aim is to analyse the stock title at the global, industry and company level, determine the intrinsic value of the share and set investment recommendation. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter is focused on influence of macroeconomic variables on the stock market. The second part deals with the sectoral factors in the Czech banking industry. The third chapter contains calculation of the intrinsic value of the stock title Komerční banka, a.s. In the conclusion, there is the overall assessment and formulation of investment recommendation.

The main goal of this thesis is to properly apply the methods and approaches of these two concepts of valuing stocks. Fundamental and technical analysis are the most common ways to value stocks. In the first part of the text, I present the theoretical background of fundamental analysis and aftewards apply its methods in practice. The whole analysis comes from global analysis of the economy and its relations to capital markets to banking industry analysis and firm analysis in the end. Technical analysis comprises two basic fields - charting and technical indicators. Upon the practical application of both concepts, I present the final recommendation for investors.

Diploma thesis focuses on fundamental and technical analysis of the stock Komerční banka, a.s. The aim of the work is to applicate techniques of both analyses and prepare investvment recommendations according to acquired results. This work also provides theoretical background of particular analyses and applied methods. The first chapter contains global fundamental analysis supplemented by analysis of relations between main factors and index PX using correlation coefficient. Another two chapters deal with sector analysis and calculation of intrinsic value of the stock. The last chapter is devoted to technical analysis using chart's methods and methods based on technical indicators.

Fundamental analysis of Komerční banka, a.s. stock

The main purpose of this thesis is to analyze Komerční banka's stock with fundamental analysis methods. It describes the influence of global, industrial and business factors that determine the stock's intrinsic value. Within the global analysis part it describes the basic causes of the current financial crisis. Using selected models of fundamental analysis the intrinsic value is estimated and compared with the market price which leads to the final investment recommedation.
