ŠITTOVÁ, Marie
My work deals with pastoral activities of z Gethseman´s comforters at Saint Mary´s pilgrimage in Klokoty in Tábor. The arrival of a new Slavic religious order in the spiritual administration into this pilgrimage had the giant importance for its spiritual and architectural development. The first stage of comforters´pastoral activities at Klokoty finishes with the liquidation of menś monasteries in 1950. The second stage starts with Congregation activities after almost twenty years in 1969. Comforters tried hard to restore the glory of this pilgrimage place in Klokoty in the way of spiritual and building work until 1993 when the last Klokoty´s comforter died. Agency of this congregation is closed in the Czech republic in 2010.
The Cult of the Virgin Mary and Places of Pilgrimage in South Bohemia
NOVOTNÁ, Lucie
The thesis deals with Marian cult in South Bohemia. First the thesis provides an overview of the origins and development of Pietas Mariana in Europe and especially in the Czech Lands from the 9th century to the present time. A rise of the Marian cult could be observed in Bohemia and Moravia even in the Baroque period and among those members of the orders who considered the Virgin Mary to be their founder, protector or patron. Marian piety, Marian places of pilgrimage and Marian lay communities played also an important role in the so-called ``Marian century{\crqq} (1854-1950). The last but one chapter provides a brief summary of Marian places of pilgrimage in South Bohemia (churches, chapels, wells) including their legends, stories and miracles. The last chapter describes six best known Marian places of pilgrimage in the diocese of České Budějovice in detail (e.g. Chlum u Třeboně, Klokoty, Lomec, Římov, Sepekov and Svatý Kámen u Rychnova nad Malší).
