Innovative Historical Novels in the Sixties

The aim of this thesis is to explore the author's approach to the past in selected innovative historical novels in the Sixties. The subject of analysis is the novel by Karel Michal Čest a sláva and Oldřich Daněk Král utíká z boje. The thesis examines how the authors' approach to the past influences various components of their work, mainly the composition, approach to language and style and creation of characters.
