Relationship of biological age of children and their success in karate
Peřinka, Filip ; Honsová, Šárka (advisor) ; Chytráčková, Jitka (referee)
and key words The definition of problematicity: According to the date of birth, the whole population expresses their age numerically, sometimes known as the calendar or chronological year. Nevertheless, from the biological point of view, this statement can be misrepresented in the meaning. The real and precise age, here we mean the biological age, can be different. The Aim: The aim of my batchelor thesis is to consider and evaluate the populational biological age of children doing karate, ranging from 10-15 years. We want to find out whether the biological age has any impact on karate competitions' results. The methods: There is a group of individuals, including boys and girls, who accomplish the criteria for the evaluation. One of them is the approximate achievement of the same technical level of the karateist and the minimal two years competition's attendance. According to Brauer, the biological determination of the year will not only be carried out by the proportional method (in Riegerová, Přidalová, Ulbrichová, 2006; Riegerová, Sedlak, 1996; Riegerová, 1984) but also by the help of orientational growing age of children. Next, we compare the calendar and biological age and evaluate them. All results gained from the survey, will be compared with the anthropological research of Czech population,...

Kinesiological analysis of upper limb punch strike in sports karate
Pavelka, Radim ; Kračmar, Bronislav (advisor) ; Fojtík, Ivan (referee) ; Pánek, David (referee)
I ABSTRACT Title: Kinesiological analysis of upper limb punch strike in sports karate. Aim of work: The aim of this thesis to describe and characterize the muscle involement in direct punch strike in karate. Then compared with the exercises, which are characteristic to karate - strikes with resistence and push-up exercise. Methods: Work is processed by a comparative analysis of selected movements based on the determination of muscle activation. The surface electromyography method synchronized with video and accelerometer was used in this work. Results: The result is describtion of selcted movements on the basis of muscle activation and function of selected muscles. The prove that the forearm extensors are activated as the last of the selcted muscles was managed. On the basis of karate technique and anatomy we confirmed important role of forearm extensor by direct punch in karate. The difference between onset time muscle activation by strikes and push up was found. Maximum speed of acral part of the upper limb by direct punch was established. Keywords: Electromyography (EMG), karate, direct punch - gyakucuki, accelrometer
Effect of disciplinary specialization on the body mass distribution in the body of karateka
Zdobinský, Adam ; Pavelka, Radim (advisor) ; Reguli, Zdenko (referee)
Title: Effect of disciplinary specialization on the body mass distribution in the body of karateka Aim of work: The main aim this thesis os to discover whether the disciplinary specialization effects the body mass distribution on limbs of karateka. Methods: The thesis has an empiric and theorethic character. Data collection is processed by dynamometry, measurement of limb circuits and body mas analyzation by Tanita MC-980. Data evaluation is processed by basic statistic methods. Keywords: Karate, kata, kumite, dynamometry, symetry
Selected gymnastics exercises for flexibility development of hip joints in karate training
Malíř, Roman ; Chrudimský, Jan (advisor) ; Krištofič, Jaroslav (referee)
Title: Selected gymnastic exercises for flexibility development of hip joints in karate training Objective: The aim of this thesis is to verify, whether typical gymnastic exercises have an effect on the development of hip joints in a group of karatist with different length of training practice. Methods: This thesis is of quasi-experimental character. 18 probands were intentionally selected from two groups - a group of moderately advanced (10) and a group of advanced (8) aged 6-11 years. Probands have completed a movement program aimed at developing flexibility in the hip joints (static, dynamic and theraband exercises). Meantime all probands underwent initial, first control, second control and output measurements using the SFTR method in the hip joints every four weeks of the movement program. Methods used: Mann-Whitney test, Effect size, SFTR method. Results: In both groups, the joint range in the hip joint was improved, especially in the first control measurement (after static exercises). Overall, there is a slight increase in both groups from input to output for all movements. The effect of the exercise on the mobility of the hip joint was not proved, as well as the effect of different types of exercises in both groups with different length of training practice. Keywords: gymnastics, karate,...

Athletic preparation for karate - kumite training
Babor, Marek ; Pavelka, Radim (advisor) ; Stich, Jaroslav (referee)
Title: Athletic preparation for karate - kumite training Objectives: The main aim of my bachelor thesis is to prepare, describe and evaluate specific exercises which arise from combining fitness and coordination factors of kumite with essential athletic movement elements for the use in kumite training. The subgoal is to compose a list of terms, facts and context necessary for reaching the main aim. Methods: Historical method was used to explain the evolution of karate and athletics sport disciplines. Individual movement abilities, sports equipment and exercises are presented descriptively . Compilation of "specific" excercises is a result of analytical-synthetic method. By connecting athletic exercises with essential kumite exercises a synthetic of both was born as an effective tool for increasing sports performance. Results: Basic athletic movement skills were used for training of movement abilities using described factors and their importance for athlete's performance, of which most applied to original exercises was run, which improves speed development and strength of lower limbs. Other athletic's elements in special exercises are jumps, that strengthen the explosive power of lower limbs. Such exercises are significant for development of coordination factors like sequence of movements, reactions...
Design of test set for long-term monitoring of top-level karate karate athletes.
Pešek, Adam ; Pavelka, Radim (advisor) ; Zdobinský, Adam (referee)
Title: Design of test set for long-term monitoring of top-level karate karate athletes. Objectives: The aim of this work is to design the test set for long-term monitoring of the top-level karate athletes. Methods: A total of 26 probands (10 women and 16 men) aged 18-26 years were included in the research. Everyone has practiced karate for at least 2 years and they are holders of a minimal green belt. A total of 10 motor tests were included in the designed test set. Selected 7 tests from this test set were tested by the test-retest method. Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to determine reliability and objectivity. Results: Modified Bass test (rrel=0,83, robj=0,94), repeated punches and blocks gedanbarai + choku cuki (rrel=0,82, robj=0,95), repeated mawashigeri kicks (rrel=0,93, robj=0,97), shuttle run 30x10 m (rrel=0,83), straight two arms medicine ball throw from heiko dachi stance (rrel=0,91), knee to wall touch (rrel=0,97), height of jokogeri kick (rrel=0,97). Keywords: karate, kata, the structure of sport performance, testing, test set
Kinematická analýza úderu v karate
VEITHOVÁ, Lucie
The diploma thesis deals with the kinematic analysis of the most frequently used technique in sports karate. Specifically, it analyzes the technique of the direct punch Gjaku cuki from the perspective of kumite discipline. The thesis describes its theoretical implementation on the basis of professional publications dedicated to the general public as well as experts and points to the various factors that affect performance in kumite. The strike technique is analyzed in practice with various technical advances by using 3D kinematic analysis (SIMI Motion). The work analyzes in detail the movements of the individual segments of the body, the angular changes between them and examines the variables such as hull inclination, speed, acceleration, height and center of gravity track during the direct punch. The results are partially compared with the theoretical description and the differences in the results of the members of Czech national karate team with different technical maturity are examined. The conclusion are summarized the acquired knowledge from kinematic analysis, which provide a recommendation for the training practice and appropriate advice on quality of Gjaku cuki.
