Beneš, Martin ; Halada, Jan (advisor) ; Čeňková, Jana (referee)
The Thesis entitled "The Personality and Work of the Author of the Non fiction literature in the Media and the Socio-Political Metamorphoses of the Time" describes the influence of the various aspects of the communication process and its development (changes of the socio-political situation and the non fiction literature itself) in relation to the publicist, writer, historian and translator Karel Richter. He lived through the 1960s, the period of "normalisation" and the 1990s, when the market economy witnessed a rapid development - including the publishing sector. The work describes the metamorphosis of the communication process in retrieving information, the pursuit of political communication in relation to the non fiction literature and other aspects of this genre of the author's works. It focuses on the political and economic influences, which affected Richter's work, and the influence of his work in the media back on him. The Thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part sums up scientific works written about the non fiction literature genre. Slouka, David ; Halada, Jan (advisor) ; Čeňková, Jana (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on non-fiction literature in Czech online media during years 2015 to 2018. Objective of this thesis is to look if, and how, is non-fiction literature present in Czech online media. To accomplish this objective, analysis of popular Czech digital journalism websites is carried out alongside the use of two popular search engines from Google.cz and Seznam,cz. Besides this main objective, the unique variant of non-fiction literature specific for Czech Republic, the so-called "literatura faktu" or "literature of (a) fact(s)", is better defined both as a concept and as a term. Chapters 1 to 3 are striving to find a better definition of non-fiction literature in Czech Republic, but they also concentrate on history of non-fiction in Czechia and Czechoslovakia and on its differences and similarities with Anglo-Saxon and international non-fiction. Fourth chapter of the thesis focuses on analysis and methodology used to find relevant research results. The fifth, sixth and seventh chapters are thoroughly investigating Czech internet to find results for non-fiction literature, while the eight chapter is summarizing all found information. Along with Summary itself, it puts newfound knowledge in context.
Non-fiction literature in the czech book market: The portrayal of grigory rasputin
Štollová, Jitka ; Halada, Jan (advisor) ; Čeňková, Jana (referee)
This bachelor thesis explores the development of non-fiction literature in the Czech and Czechoslovakian book markets by means of the analysis of publications focused on the character of Russian mystic Grigory Efimovich Rasputin. The main attention is paid to the question in which manner the heretofore released titles show the versatility of the genre of non-fiction literature. The thesis at first examines the history of non-fiction literature in the world and in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic and it outlines Rasputin's biography afterwards. The main, analytical part comprises the analyses of eight titles about Rasputin which are examined from the perspective of their authorial style, approaches to facts and the use of literary strategies as means of persuading readers. The thesis aims to trace common features and tendencies of these titles and show on the selected topic the transformation of the genre of non-fiction literature within almost a hundred years.
