Poetics of selected dramas from the Krejča's era of the National Theater
Fuksová, Johana ; Smrčka, Jiří (advisor) ; Kubíček, Tomáš (referee)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the motif of everyday life, which came to the fore in the second half of the 1950s, not only for ordinary people, but also for writers, poets and playwrights. In particular, it examines the degree of importance of the motif of everyday life in the plays written for the National Theatre during the period when Otomar Krejča and his "dramaturgical workshop" were active there. For the typological analysis, five plays were selected which premieres took place at the Tyl Theatre in 1958-1963, namely František Hrubín's August Sunday and Crystal Night, Josef Topol's Their Day, František Pavlíček's Match with the Angel and Milan Kundera's The Owners of the Keys. The aim of this thesis is to determine whether the motif of everyday life is what defines the poetics of the original plays written for the National Theatre. KEYWORDS motif of everyday life, Otomar Krejča, František Hrubín, Milan Kundera, Josef Topol, František Pavlíček, drama, National Theatre
Personality of Karel Kraus
Sýbová, Kristýna ; Topolová, Barbara (advisor) ; Just, Vladimír (referee)
This thesis is dealing with the work of the dramaturge, translator and the theatre theorist Karel Kraus (1920 - 2014). The activity of this author is presented gradually with an accent on the chronology and domains of his production, as well as on the most significant subjects in his works. The main purpose of this thesis is to characterize and summarize Kraus's work as a whole unit. And there are primary sources (writings of Kraus) which are used to accomplish this intention. While the unit of Kraus's works is described step by step, we are also getting familiarized with his way of writing and his attitude. The thesis is extended of a supplement which consists of the bibliography of the essays and articles by Karel Kraus in the period from 2000 to 2014.

Changes of Poetics in Josef Topol's Literary Works
Horník, Ondřej ; Špirit, Michael (advisor) ; Holý, Jiří (referee)
1 This bachelor thesis analyses several major topics across the dramatic works of Josef Topol. It mainly deals with conflicts of worldviews of main characters of each play and explores similarities in these worldviews across Topol's plays. It examines the consistency of words and deeds of the characters in relation their attitudes. It shows gradual shift of Topol's focus from conflicts of the individual with society to relationships between characters themselves. The thesis hereby aims to prove that the playwright is exploring his topics increasingly, as time passes, as universal human themes and not as specific conflicts of particular persons determined by their place in society. It also shows that the pessimism present in the artist's late works may be only partially attributed to his forced displacement from active cultural life; roots of this pessimism are present even in his early works.
