Folk music as a part of traditions in Chod region

The main purpose of this bachelor thesis is to introduce the rich folk activity of the Chodsko region, especially the musical elements within certain local traditions. The thesis envisages the music as essential part not only of customs and traditions but also of the lifestyle typical for this frontier region in general. Besides going through significant dates, this text discusses the development of the folklore in villages and in the capital itself - Domažlice city, the cradle of Chodsko region's festivities.
Primary school of art of Jindřich Jindřich in Domažlice (history and present)

This thesis is dedicated to the primary art school of Jindřich Jindřich in Domažlice. It is divided to five chapters. Firstly, it speaks about the town of Domažlice, especially its history and progress. Secondly, there will be described musical life in Domažlice and its surrounding. Third chapter is focused on the life of the local ethnographer Jindřich Jindřich and his asset to the region of Chodsko. In the next chapter the history of monastic church and other monastic buildings, where the musical school is situated today is portrayed. Follows the description of the musical school in general as well as its particular fields of study.

Marie Kovářová - ethnographer of Podblanicko

This bachelor thesis deals with the personality of Marie Kovářová, ethnographic worker of Podblanicko. It describes her life between the years 1910-1972, from birth to retirement. The major emphasis is placed on the early publication and museum activities. Her biography arose from the analysis of documents stored in Kovářová's personal archive fund and available literature and was supplemented by the information obtained in a small field research. The aim was to evaluate Kovářová's role in the regional homeland work and put her personality into contemporary context of the history of ethnography.
