Zoubková, Alice ; Osvaldová, Barbora (advisor) ; Lábová, Alena (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the media image of the Prague Jedlicka Institute in selected media: the Czech Television and the Czech Radio, between 2012 and 2014. This institution is very well known, but based on surveys, it appears that a significant portion of the public has no clear idea of who are its clients or what services it provides. There are also still some stereotypical notions about this institution. This thesis therefore focuses primarily on the fact to what extent and in what way the media presented the Jedlicka Institute - if they tried to show its real work as closely as possible or on the contrary, to deepen stereotypical perceptions. In the theoretical part are mentioned the important moments of the history of the Jedlicka Institute and also introduced its current form and function. From a media perspective, attention is paid to concepts such as representation, stereotypes and media images and portrayal of persons with disabilities in the media. Using quantitative and qualitative analysis of published posts were subsequently established that neither the Czech Television or the Czech Radio don't support negative image of the Jedlicka Institute, but rather try to pay attention to capture a broader spectrum of its activities, especially the exceptional events associated with it.
