Handset based computer control
Kovář, Jan ; Kouřil, Jiří (referee) ; Polívka, Michal (advisor)
The master's thesis is focused on Java based solution of remote PC control using a mobile phone. Application is made up of client and server, which are communicating via Bluetooth interface. The client represents a mobile application (MIDlet) and commands sent to the server. Server, run on a computer (with any operating system), read these orders and evaluate their algorithms to control the PC. The issue of the draft text is divided into two units, each of them describes just one part of the application. The client describes its functionality. It is also fully examines the structure of mobile application programmed in Java ME, together with the most important methods of this code. Text dealing with the server part describes its activities as well as individual options utilization. It describes the structure of the server application which is programmed in Java SE. There are also a description of the most important methods of the Java SE code. This thesis gives the results of both components of the application that allow to remotely control the computer and especially the presentation. The application was properly debugged and tested, and form a functional multiplatform software.
SMS Application for JavaME Platform
Růčka, Lukáš ; Burget, Radim (referee) ; Kovář, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to study the potential of Java ME platform for receiving and sending of SMS and to utilize obtained information subsequently in implementation of an application for this platform. The first part of the diploma thesis aims at explaining general terms of the Java language and its basic features. The next part deals with specific properties of the Java ME platform and properties of devices that support this platform. A design of the Java ME application based on theoretical knowledge is created then. This application has to be able to receive, process, store and send SMS and communicate with the server application based on the Java SE platform. The created Java ME application serves as an automated SMS voting server, which can be used in mobile devices that support the Java ME platform and can be remote-controlled via Internet from the Java SE platform application. The final chapter presents the results and conclusions of testing of the created application on real mobile devices.
Advanced Oracle Database Monitoring Tool
Mikulka, David ; Chmelař, Petr (referee) ; Kolář, Dušan (advisor)
This master's thesis describes possibilities of Oracle Database 10g and 11g monitoring. It let the reader know about practical tools for monitoring and describes the database's internal catalogs preserving statistics and the information about running database instances within history. Next, it describes design of an Oracle database monitoring tool, describtion of its implementation and at the end its evaluation and comparison with other similar applications.
E-mail Client for OpenMoko
Krátký, Pavel ; Bartoň, Radek (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
Openmoko is a revolutionary Linux platform with an expanding community of developers. The goal of the project is to create a user-friendly email client programmed in Java and analyze the difficulties of application development on this platform. The thesis discusses possibilities of development of this kind of applications, especially those using SWT widget toolkit. JavaMail library which handles the electronic mail is described as well. In conclusion we demonstrate advantages and disadvantages of the created program. The outcome of this thesis is an email client designed for mobile Linux devices with touch control and an introduction to software development on the Openmoko platform.

Copybook example of development of Java SE application according to MVC design patter
Draslar, Josef ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Pecinovský, Rudolf (referee)
The goal of thesis: The main goal of the thesis is to show practical example of development of Java SE application according to MVC design pattern, the application is going to be based on JavaFX and OOP principles. The partial goal, which strictly leads to achievement of the main goal, is to explain the logic of MVC design pattern. Other goal is to briefly describe basic MVC variants (according to its own development). Outputs: The main output is textually commented source code (in Java programming language) based on OOP principles and primarily on chosen MVC representation. Partial output is brief description of the design pattern and its variants. Thesis contribution: The thesis is designed to be a guide for students of software engineering course. Thus the main contribution is processing of guide for Java SE app development according to MVC design pattern. Already available tutorials are usually unsufficient, there is lots of inconsistency between these tutorials based or other naming conventions of the same things, subjectivity, last but not least there are nearly all in English. Thesis Structure: The thesis is divided into two sections, in the first section I am going to focus on clarification of the design pattern, in the second section I am going to describe (step by step) the development of Java SE MVC app with JavaFX, from design and specifying of requirements, through brief description of used technologies, patterns and constructions, to final implementation.
