Current situation of the Israeli economy (with emphasis on the development of science and research)

At the beginning of 21st century Israel ranks among the develop countries and plays an important role in the international arena despite its relatively short existence, complicated relations in the Middle East and the unfavorable climatic conditions. This bachelor thesis identifies factors determining the current situation of the Israeli economy using SWOT analysis. The second part is focused on the development of science and research. The aim is to clarify the influence of this factor on the Israeli economy and to outline its contribution both at local and global levels. In conclusion there're presented reasons for the success of Israel.

Economic development in Israel went on against a background of some very specific factors resulting mainly from complicated security conditions and problems bound with water shortage and resources scarcity. The subject of this bachelor thesis is the detailed analysis of these factors, of their effects on the Israeli economy in the past and in the present, and their possible impacts in the future.
