Diploma thesis deals with an issue of diversity management and effective leadership of diverse teams, in multicultural companies. Literary research of the thesis defines general terms, such as diversity and diversity management. Furthermore, problematics of the age and intercultural management in context of present demographic development in Czech Republic is covered in this part. The next part in thesis contains interviews with the language school management and questionnaire survey with the language school employees. At the conclusion, based on the results from the survey, recommendations leading to the effective work and satisfied employees, were formed.

The bachelor thesis deals with the application of intercultural management and finding out the current state of its implementation in selected company. The aim of the thesis is to create proposals for strengthening intercultural management in a selected international company operating in Slovakia. The thesis is divided into two parts. Theoretical part defines the topics of globalization, culture and intercultural management. Moreover, it describes demographic development and migration in Slovakia. Practical part consists of qualitative and quantitative research. Proposals for strengthening intercultural management in the selected company are proposed on the basis of the results of a questionnaire survey and an interview with the company´s HR manager. In the final part, the proposals are economically quantified and possible benefits of their implementation are mentioned.

This thesis writes about cultural dimensions and their influences on management in an intercultural environment. External PEST analysis and internal analysis of the company using 7S are performed, which is supplemented by a questionnaire survey plus research on the qualitative type of data. The research first compares Hofstede's cultural dimensions according to the staffing of the company, and according to Lewis. In the evaluation, we look at the motivational factors and their level of interest according to cultures, as well as the awareness of the employees about the cultural dimensions and the degree of cooperation in intercultural teams. In the questionnaire, we focus on whether foreigners received help from the company during their relocation to the Czech Republic, specifically to Brno. Based on these analyses, multiple proposals are developed for the company. The suggested forms are an adaptation program, educational presentations, teambuilding and additional company benefits, which are developed to strengthen loyalty and intercultural management.

This diploma thesis deals with the application of diversity leadership in selected companies in the automotive industry in Slovakia. The aim of the thesis is the formulation of proposals and recommendations in diversity management with emphasis on age, gender and intercultural management. The first part of the thesis includes literary research. The second part of the thesis comprises qualitative and quantitative research. The qualitative research consisted of 3 semi-structured interviews with middle and top management. The quantitative research is conducted on the basis of a questionnaire survey of employees. The primary research deals with the perception of diversity management, age, gender and intercultural management by employees. Based on the results of the research, recommendations are proposed, including their benefits and economic evaluation.

The last part describes the suggestions for improvement, their economic evaluation and benefits.

The importance of knowledge of cross-cultural differences in managing intercultural teams

The aim and focus of the bachelor's thesis are different managers’ perspectives on solving the problems of cultural differences in the diverse teams of an international XY company. The thesis' major goal is to identify important factors and key aspects of cultural differences and management work in a diverse environment for managers. The partial goal is the identification of the obstacles and barriers managers need to face and overcome in a multicultural environment. The goals are achieved using qualitative research in the form of individual online interviews with co-owners, managers, and employees of a selected company. The qualitative research method of qualitative interviews (primary data) was used to obtain data for this bachelor thesis. The analysis for finding the main problems and differences in intercultural teams from the interviews was done in the MAXQDA program. In this thesis, are identify the necessity of communication and cooperation among people of different cultures as the most important factors for managing intercultural teams. Key aspects for manager are to learn, adapt, understand, control different communication styles, put cooperation ahead of competition; and improve language skills. The manager gets in touch the most frequently with language obstacles and barriers, which cause misunderstandings due to different views. The recommendations are to improve knowledge of language and cultural differences (a list of cultural differences is attached in the appendix), improve effective communication in teams, learn and try to understand, adapt rather than judge, and prioritize cooperation over competition. Intercultural teams are more effective and creative because people have various ways of solving problems and bring new solutions.

The work is aimed at solving the problem of managing the interculturally diverse groups of AT&T employees. The course is structured around research questions about the ways AT&T has for managing foreign workers. The objectives of the thesis are to improve interaction and communication in the workplace in a multicultural environment and to develop the potential of these teams. The bachelor thesis uses Hofstede's dimensions, through which the main results of the work are identified. This is followed by a review of the collected results, a comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of the organization, and then recommendations for improving the management of the company.
