Evaluation of the Financial Situation in the Firm and Proposals to its Improvement

My master´s thesis focuses on the processes involved in conduction of overall financial assessment of the company using financial analysis method. The aim of this thesis is to recommend actions for improving the current financial situation of the corporation Alfa Plastik, a.s. The thesis is divided into four main parts. The first part deals with the general characteristics of the company, the theoretical part describes the financial analysis procedure using new findings and ascertainments from literature. The practical part analyses the financial situation of the company through application of various financial analysis instruments and the final part pursues to actions proposed by me.

Rozhodování podniku o realizaci investice

This bachelor thesis is focused on the evaluation of conditions for the realization of an investment in a photogrammetric scanner for a selected company. The main aim of the thesis is to assess whether the investment is economically worthwhile for the enterprise or not. In order to achieve the stated objective, it is necessary to first determine the method of financing the investment, estimate the development of revenues and operating costs and predict the cash flows resulting from the investment project. On the basis of the obtained data, the economic efficiency of the investment is evaluated using dynamic methods.

Využití ukazatele EVA při hodnocení výkonnosti společnosti MND a.s.

The aim of this thesis is to propose measures to improve performance of the company MND a.s. based on the evaluation of the performance of the examined company and comparison with the comparable companies. The literature review deals with the basic aspects related to enterprise performance evaluation. In practical part is theoretical knowledge applied to the specific company MND a.s. and to its competitors. First is evaluated financial situation of the companies. Subsequently, are calculated economic values added by using the transformation of accounting data on net operating assets, net operating profit after taxes and are calculated weighted average cost of capital. At the end is MND a.s. compared with entire branch by system INFA.

This master thesis is concerned with the identification of the key factors that affect the performance of selected enterprises in the construction sector. For the determination of the main targets was chosen to compare two companies and sectors. The thesis introduction describes the current situation in the construction industry, its impact on the Czech economy and economic development. After the general characterization of the sector, it was made a literature research, which describes the theoretical background needed for the practical part of the thesis. In particular these include concepts, that deal with the evaluation of business performance, and specifically the fundamentals of financial analysis and advanced indicators of performance measurement, where it is mainly described indicator EVA. The next section of the thesis presents analysed companies and there is processed strategic analysis, namely by PESTE analysis and SWOT analysis. A main part of thesis consists of financial analysis and calculation of economic value added, particularly by method EVA equity. The next part by using sensitivity and correlation analysis identifies key factors influencing the resulting value of indicator EVA, and thus the performance of selected enterprises. The conclusion is devoted to the discussion and draft recommendations to increase efficiency and competitiveness of rated companies.

Trojánková, A. Key factors influencing the performance of businesses in the construction sector. Diploma thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2017. This diploma thesis is focused on finding key factors that affect performance of enteprises operating in the construction sector and propose solution that will increase their efficiency. To fulfill the primary target there were chosen two businesses whose work was analysed and compared with entire civil engineering sector. The diploma thesis is divided into three parts. The first part deals with theoretical background relating to business performance, strategic analysis, approaches to measuring business performance and construction of the economic value added. This part is ended with the analysis of the construction market in the Czech Republic. In the second part of the diploma thesis there are introduced two analysed enterprises which are investigated by using of strategic and financial analysis and then economic value added is constructed. The resulting values are compared with values of civil engineering sector and in some cases in financial analyses also with the best companies in the sector. Key factors influencing the performance of businesses are identified by using the correlation and sensitivity analysis. The final part of thesis is dedicated to discussion and formulation of proposal for solution which will increase the performance of the analyzed companies in the construction sector.

Využití ukazatele EVA při hodnocení výkonnosti podniků ve zpracovatelském průmyslu

This diploma thesis deals with performance evaluation of a selected group of twenty companies from metalworking and other manufacturing industries from 2008 to 2015. The main goal is to draft relevant recommendation to increase performance of the selected companies and identification of key performance factors. The base is financial analysis of these companies and calculation of EVA indicator. Indicator of economic value added is determined on the basis of EVA equity using INFA, a publicly accessible methodology of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. By using mathematical and statistical methods, especially correlation analysis, it searches for the factors with most significant relationship with the indicator EVA. The summary of key performance indicators and their reliance on each other is the result of this correlation analysis. This is followed by prediction of future EVA value evolution. On the grounds of the analysis results, suitable recommendation can be created.

Diploma thesis deals with the identification of factors influencing the economic value added of the non-alcoholic beverage producers in the Czech Republic. The main aim of the thesis is to propose suitable measures that will have a positive influence on the economic value added in the chosen sector. In order to meet the main objective, it was necessary to establish a sample of companies to identify the external factors affecting the producers of non-alcoholic beverages and to deter- mine selected factors of financial analysis including economic value added. Afterwards, according to the determined methods the key factors influencing the economic value added were identified.

Kvantifikace bankrotního rizika u vinařských společností Jihomoravského kraje

The purpose of this thesis is to propose suggestions, which would be able to eliminate the bankruptcy risk of selected wine companies in South Moravian region. In the first part of the thesis is introduced the financial analysis via the literature resources. Second part of the thesis is focused on performing financial analysis for selected companies and quantification of their bankruptcy risk. There are presented suggestions for elimination of identified weak spots in the company in the ending part of this thesis.

In the practical part is performed evaluation of company performance based on traditional financial analysis, bankruptcy and credit models and calculation of EVA indicator. Furthermore, the Balanced Scorecard method is implemented. Based on the results, the performance of the company is evaluated and at the same time measures for its increase are proposed.

The objective of this diploma thesis is to suggest recommendations leading to improving firm performance, determined by economic value added (EVA) using EVA equity with INFA benchmarking system. Key performance indicators (value drivers) were identified by financial analysis and mathematical-statistical methods, mainly regression analysis. Recommendations improving key performance indicators of metalworking industry companies were suggested. These recommendations were used to create specific solution for main analyzed company HDO spol. s.r.o. Simulation of balance sheet and profit and loss statement was used to prove positive effects on economic value added.
