Digital audio amplifier with universal inputs

This diploma thesis deals with digital audio amplifier with universal inputs and its design. The first part describes modulation and audio formats for audio electronics. The thesis contain design of a block diagram of the digital audio amplifier and describes the requirements for functional blocks. As a basic device for audio signal processing was choosen integrated circuit STA326. The thesis continue with circuits design for each blocks with a description of their principles. The next section describes the construction and firmware for microcontroller. The last part of this diploma thesis is targeted on the presentation of the measured parameters of the amplifier. The conclusion summarizes the results that have been achieved and advantages and disadvantages of the digital audio amplifier prototype.

This master’s thesis deals with a modification of existing project which is used as a helpful tool for tracking and measuring digital audio interface I2S. The original design was created by Ing. Martin Stejskal, Polymorphic USB – I2S Interface. Modifications are based on practical one year experience when the device was tested and deals with new requirements for extension. This work describes and justify individual changes of hardware and software part of project.

HiFi DA Converter with Integrated Headphone Amplifier

This thesis is dealing with a design and fabrication of D/A coverter and headphone amplifier for stereo reproduction in Hi-Fi class. In opening chapter, overall problematics of digital audio signal distribution is discussed. Following chapters are dedicated to converter design, communication protocols, component selection, converter production, circuitry design and firmware programming. The final chapter is dealing with expansion options such as HDMI inputs and surround sound.

Library for Utilization of Audiocodec SGTL5000 on Educational Kit Minerva

The target of this work is create create library for utilization of audiocodec SGTL5000 which is placed on educational kit Minerva. Educational kit is equipped by microcontroller Kinetis K60 and FPGA Xilinx Spartan-6. Library contain macros and control functions in C language for launch and control audiocodec. Further contain module for communication with audiocodec through FPGA with protocols I2C and I2S. This work also contain demonstration application which play and record sound data on SD card.

Multichannel Audio Signal Transmission Over Local Area Network

This thesis deals with design and implementation of multi-channel audio signal streaming via local network. The aim was to choose suitable processor for the transmission of up to 32 channels of audio signal, which will be used for implementation. Also the low-latency ASIO driver was studied and was used to provide timestamps for synchronization. The transmission protocol was designed for signaling and for the real time stream. The actual transmission is provided by TCP protocol. In conclusion, I created the application for development board with choosen MCU. Finally whole solution was tested with real data.

Implementation of the I2S Driver into the Freescale MQX RTOS

This thesis deals with design and development of a I2S module driver for real-time operating system MQX running on a ColdFire V4 architecture based processor. Further there are presented circuit diagrams and PCBs created for testing of functions and properties of the driver. Signal input is a digital audio in form of S/PDIF interface, output is an analogue signal, that can be listened by the means of a headphone amplifier. The conclusion describes a sample application demonstrating function of the driver on developed hardware.

The thesis presents a detailed description of individual parts and their use. Thesis also includes complete device designs, including a power supply and additional circuits.
