Musical culture in Cyprus with a focus on the piano works and piano pedagogy

The diploma thesis deals with the Cypriot music culture and mainly focuses on piano education and piano works. The aim of this work was to introduce the main representatives of Cypriot classical music, the music life on Cyprus and the history of piano education until the present day. A part of the work is also a personal research, carried out by a questionnaire, and a didactic and interpretive insight on the fundamental instructive work Kinderlaunen of the Cypriot pianist and composer Nicolas Economou. The work is divided into six chapters, which draw information from accessible literature and mainly from a research made in this field. The six chapters could be notionally divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the music history of the island by introducing distinctive personalities of the Cypriot classical music and by mapping the music life on Cyprus. Furthermore, this part deals with the Cypriot music education system and the teaching methods in piano education. The practical part contains the analysis and results of the submitted questionnaire and the didactic and interpretive insight on the instructive piano work of the earlier mentioned Cypriot pianist and composer. The theme of the bachelor's work is the summary of the important personalities who are connected with the Basic school of performing arts in Jihlava. The work is concentrated to the past or present teachers, and also to the school-leavers, who excelled at the artistic or pedagogic activity in the region. The main attention will be paid to the personalities, whose importance exceeded the region. These are the main personalities who will be give the largest space in the work: Bohumil Bouda, Bohumír Štědroň, Zdeněk Jílek, Antonín Nosek, Milan Bialas, Vlastimil Bialas, Petr Šandera, Petr Fiala, Antonín Rous, Pavel Jirák, Dana Fučíková, Václav Hoskovec, František Fiala, Hana Škarková, Kateřina Hebelková and Roman Patočka.

The emergence and development of the music school in Prachatice

The emergence and development of the music school in Prachatice. A thesis follow up a formation and following activity of Czech Musical School in Prachatice. Pictures its development using analysis and subsequent summary of all available historical sources preserved in the archives and in Elementary Art school of Music. The first part of thesis concentrates on the beginning and progression of music education in Bohemia and Moravia in general, in different parts of history. The second part is focused on the town Prachatice, describes circumstances of foundation and following development of the town. Third, the main part of work follow up the history of Music School, including branch office in the town Lhenice.
The beginnings of music education in Tyn nad Vltavou

This work deals with the origins and historical development of music education in Týn nad Vltavou. It summarizes and analyzes all available regional sources. The first part concerns the general development of music education in the Czech lands, while the second part is devoted to the history of music education in Týn nad Vltavou. The third section summarizes the history of the independent music school in Týn nad Vltavou. The oldest music manuscripts are given particular attention. Separate sections are dedicated to the Literary Brotherhood as well as the Puchmír Choir. This is the first study that deals with this specific regional topic.

The topic of the diploma work is the summary of activities ZUŠ Jihlava and compilation of its history, method work and social signification of the student´s music bands that operate on its ground. It includes the string orchestra, brass orchestra and other small ensembles. The focus of the work is beside the backgrounds of the conductors and ensemble leaders on the relationship between the teaching in the bands and student training for the practice, on the comparison of the sphere of activities and quality of several ensembles and it considers also the future music experience of the graduates and members of these bands or ensembles.
