Economic and financial reasons for divorces in Gulf countries

The thesis deals with the economic and financial reasons for divorces in the Gulf countries. It explores current Islamic laws of selected countries, such as the Personal Status law of the United Arab Emirates and the family law of Qatar. Based on the data extracted, it aims to focus on the demographical changes and how it affects the economic policies of specific countries and their depiction in the selected sources. An analysis of the civil law and demographical trends presents the development of the contemporary society of the Gulf countries with the focus on divorces and why they happen as a negative externality of economic measures that took place, which occurred in concrete examples in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar.
