The thesis deals with the economic and financial reasons for divorces in the Gulf countries. It explores current Islamic laws of selected countries, such as the Personal Status law of the United Arab Emirates and the family law of Qatar. Based on the data extracted, it aims to focus on the demographical changes and how it affects the economic policies of specific countries and their depiction in the selected sources. An analysis of the civil law and demographical trends presents the development of the contemporary society of the Gulf countries with the focus on divorces and why they happen as a negative externality of economic measures that took place, which occurred in concrete examples in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar. Práce se zabývá ekonomickými a finančními důvody rozvodů v zemích Perského zálivu. Zkoumá současné přednostně islámské zákony vybraných zemí, Spojených arabských emirátů v písemných pramenech, jako je zákon o rodinném právu Spojených arabských emirátů, anebo v Kataru a jeho rodinném právu. Na základě získaných dat si klade za cíl zaměřit se na demografické změny a jejich vliv na hospodářské politiky jednotlivých zemí a jejich zobrazení ve vybraných zdrojích. Analýza občanskoprávních a demografických trendů představuje vývoj současné společnosti zemí Perského zálivu se zaměřením na rozvody a proč k nim dochází jako negativní externalita ekonomických opatření, k nimž došlo v konkrétních příkladech ve Spojených arabských emirátech, Kataru.
