The common commercial policy of the European Union and its relation towards Russia

This bachelor's paper is focused both on the common European Union trade policy and on the trade relations between the European Union and Russia. This work describes the tenet, principles and the sense of the common commercial policy. The main goal of this work is to answer a reasearch question: Firstly, how much do differ the objectives of the European Union's trade policy (thus the plan) from the actually fulfilled ones (thus, the reality). Secondly, what steps have been taken in order to achieve the objectives. The question is answered by a comparative research.The information were predominantly obtained from a conceptual material of the Global Europe-competing in the world, from publications and from the observations of experts on this topic.The main part of theses analyzes the mutual trade relations with Russia, as one of the most important trading partners and actors of the world economy, in oder to investigate their business interests, disputes and a position.
Lisbon Strategy and the Relationship to Development Policy

Ferencová, Mária: Lisbon strategy and relationship to development policy. The thesis deals with the issue of EU competitiveness and development policy. The aim of this thesis is to prove the existence of the relationship between the external dimension of EU competitiveness and development policy. The thesis consists of five chapters. The first charter defines development policy with its main goals, and the second charter describes competitiveness and ways to measure it. The third chapter studies internal dimension of EU competitiveness as expressed in the Lisbon strategy. The fourth chapter is dedicated to external dimension of EU competitiveness including the assessment of relationship of individual trade policy tools of the Global Europe strategy and development policy. The fifth chapter shows the position of the Czech Republic which will be holding the EU Presidency in the Council. The thesis ends with several recommendations for further studying. The thesis comes to conclusion that the relationship between the external dimension of EU competitiveness and development policy exists.
