The Impacts of China on Africa

This thesis deals with the impact of China on the economic development of its largest trade partners in Africa since the foundation of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) with the emphasis on the development. The analysis is based on the indicators of economic performance, economic activity and economic development among which the Global Competitiveness Index (GCI) and the Human Development Index (HDI) figure. The final research on the basis of chosen indicators did not prove definite influence of China on the economic development of South Africa, Angola, Egypt, Nigeria and Sudan for its broad approach. However, it sheds new light into the studying of Chinese impacts and according to the the author it may be a source of new piece of knowledge on the topic when examined more profoundly with regard to single aspects of chosen indices.
The Czech Republic's competitiveness in comparison with the countries of the Visegrad Group

The Czech Republic after the admission to the European Union - macroeconomic progress and international comparison

The task of this thesis is to analyze macroeconomic situation in the Visegrád Group after the admission to the European Union in 2004. It focuses on comparison of chosen macroeconomic indicators. There is analyzed the effect of particular components on gross domestic product, other alternative indicators of GDP and macroeconomic equilibrium in the Czech Republic. The prediction of a progress of GDP is added according to several significant institutions. The last part deals with the results of an analysis of the Global Competitiveness Index in 2009/2010 with the focus on the Visegrád Group.
