The role of stereotypes and prejudices in the teaching of the German language at primary school

The diplomat heses focuses on the role of stereotypes and prejudice in the teaching of the German language at primary school. This thesis aims to contribute to a broader understanding of the relationship between stereotypes, prejudice and the teaching of German, both in academia and in the context of practical pedagogical practice. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the teaching of German as a foreign language, the characteristics of the RVP, key competences and the definition of stereotypes and prejudices, including their characteristics, types and the difference between the two concepts. The practical part of the thesis focuses on the implementation of the research, which is carried out in the form of questionnaires for lower secondary school pupils, structured interviews with German language teachers and an analysis of the school curricula of individual elementary schools. The results of the study provide important insights into the influence of stereotypes and prejudice on German language teaching in primary school level 2. The findings help to identify areas in which to focus on eliminating or mitigating the negative influence of these phenomena. The Use of Multimedia Applications for the Development of Language Training Linguistic Devices in the Teaching of German as a Foreing Language

The thesis deals with the implementation of modern technologies and multimedia applications in the teaching of German as a foreign language. The first part of the thesis focuses on defining the theoretical background. Important concepts are introduced to better orientation in the problems of the thesis. Furthermore, the role of technology in society and also in teaching is described. At the same time, this section presents the theoretical findings on the use of modern technologies during the Covid-19 pandemic and a comparison of the frequency of their use before and after the pandemic, that is, at the present time. Finally, the advantages and pitfalls of using modern technologies in teaching are described. A list of multimedia applications that can be used in the teaching of German is also provided. In the next part of the thesis, which is based on quantitative research, we analyse the results of a questionnaire survey conducted with pupils and teachers of upper primary and lower secondary schools. The results show that pupils and teachers are generally positive about the use of modern technologies in teaching. The CLIL method - preparation of materials connecting German language and Biology teaching

This Bachelor Thesis' aim was to design two teaching units according to the principles CLIL method (Content and Language Integrated Learning). This method allows to connect the teaching of a non-language-based subject (such as natural sciences at the elementary school, or Biology at the highschool level) with teaching of a foreign language - in this particular case the German language. The worksheets were specially designed for teaching of Human biology, concretely the respiratory and circulatory system curriculum.
Teaching german language through drama at the waldorf school

This diploma thesis is devoted to the application of drama in German language teaching at Waldorf school. The content itself provides a theoretical insight into the basic concepts and principles of drama education and foreign language teaching at primary school. For the sake of clarity and understanding, these basic levels related to the subject are more elaborated in the introductory chapters. The theoretical part also includes chapters related to Waldorf pedagogy and its basic principles. In the practical part, one of the main objectives was to verify whether methods of dramatic education in German language teaching could support the pupil's ability to express themselves, with an emphasis on the verbal component. The work also includes description and reflection of three lessons, the aim of which was to find out whether the selected methods of drama in foreign language teaching have an impact on pupils' ability to communicate effectively and on the overall outcome of the learning process. At the end of the thesis are described findings, which confirm the benefits of including elements of drama education in foreign language teaching, and also where their influence manifested most.
Project-based Learning in the Current Conception of Teaching German as a Foreign Language

This diploma thesis deals with trends in German language teaching, focusing on project-based learning. The theoretical part deals with the description of German language in the Framework Educational Programme for Basic Education and with theoretical background of project-based learning. The thesis then focuses on four main parts of a project: planning, realisation, presentation and evaluation. The main aim of the practical part is to prepare a draft of a project for a German language class, which is to be put into practice at elementary school. Based on two surveys filled in by the participants of the project, the practical part compares the opinions of pupils on the project-based learning compared to the traditional way of teaching. It also focuses on the motivational aspect which should be brought about by projects. The Use of the Touchscreen Technologies in German Language Teaching

This thesis deals with the use of mobile touch technologies in German language teaching. The theoretical part of the work collects basic facts and knowledge about mobile touch devices, which are important as a didactic tool. Furthermore, the work on the theoretical level deals with information on teaching applications and teaching methods in which these touch technologies can be used. The Practical part of the work is devoted to the results of the research survey, namely the questionnaire research survey and the results from a sample lesson. The questionnaire survey revealed that mobile touch technologies are not widely distributed in schools and are not widely used during lessons. This thesis seeks to give readers a comprehensive description of the possibilities of didactic and methodical use of mobile touch devices in the teaching of German language.
