Use of Neural Networks Within Constitution Models of Soils
Cigáň, Filip
This paper focuses on the innovative use of machine learning and neural networks in constitutive modelling of soils, a material with complex and nonlinear behaviour. Traditional constitutive models, based on Hooke’s law or the Mohr-Coulomb model, often show significant discrepancies from the real-world behaviour of soils, leading to high costs and uncertainties in construction projects. The aim of this work is to lay the groundwork for a neural network capable of learning and reproducing results that are closer to the real behaviour of soils than current constitutive models. This approach could bring about a revolutionary change in the fields of geotechnics and construction by providing more accurate and efficient models for analysis and design of structures. The results could lead to the optimization of materials, cost reduction, and increased safety and sustainability of construction projects. This interdisciplinary approach opens up new possibilities for research and applications, with the potential to significantly contribute to innovations in geotechnics and construction.
Design of excavation for reconstruction of shopping centre
Červenka, Jan ; Miča, Lumír (referee) ; Chalmovský, Juraj (advisor)
The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first one it deals with the design and the assessment of the once-anchored soldier pile wall, which provides an excavation for the reconstruction of the shopping centre Prior in Zlín. The retaining structure is designed according to the limit state method, using the GEO5 software and the Excel spreadsheet editor. In the second part, the thesis deals with the price comparison of the classic version of the soldier pile wall with soldier pile, IPN profiles, with over one-pole anchorage with the help of the buckle, with the variant with larger spread, where the soldier pile from the pair of UPN profiles are adapted for anchoring. The third part solves the problem of the distribution of a lateral ground pressures along the length of the soldier pile wall. For comparison with the empirical methods of design of lagging, the results of normal pressure from the mathematical model, solved by the numerical analysis, the finite element method, were used in the Plaxis 3D program. Hardening soil model was used as the material model.
Design of excavation in the Brno city centre
Kováč, Vladimír ; Miča, Lumír (referee) ; Chalmovský, Juraj (advisor)
The work deals with the problem of the ultimate and serviceability limit state of a once-anchored retaining structure of an excavation on Krenova street in Brno. The calculation of the ultimate limit state is solved manually and provides an input into the serviceability limit state, which is solved by means of a numerical analysis using a finite element method. To calculate the serviceability limit state, these constitutive models: Mohr-Columb, Hardening soil and Hardening soil small strain model are used.
Design of the Foundation Pit Sheeting
Valkó, Attila ; Boštík, Jiří (referee) ; Glisníková, Věra (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis deals with the design of the foundation pit sheeting of a multifunctional building in Brno - Pisárky. The thesis contains the description of various styles of foundation pit sheeting. The purpose of the thesis is designing an appropriate method of sheeting, in this case an anchored excavation method is used. Statistic calculations were performed by program GEO5.
Dilatancy of soils as a factor influencing the bearing capacity and load - displacement response of deep foundations
Dvořák, Tomáš ; Koudela, Pavel (referee) ; Chalmovský, Juraj (advisor)
In theory of soil mechanic the dilatancy has a significant influence, which may fundamentally affect bearing capacity and behavior of geotechnical constructions. In the past it was difficult to include influence of dilatancy directly in to calculation, but now with development of numerical analysis and growth of computer performance it is much easier. In this work there are introduced fundamental dilatancy models and phenomen called constraint dilatancy, which causes stress changes in soil or at soil – construction interface. This stress changes may lead to higher bearing capacity. In this work, the effect of constraint dilatancy is focused on bored pile’s shaft. Next target of this work is including dilatancy to calculation. By empirical methods, by direct application with theory of cylindrical cavity expansion and last by numerical calculation with finite element method in software Plaxis with using the Hardening Soil model.
Foundation pit design
Valkó, Attila ; Boštík, Jiří (referee) ; Doněk, Michal (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with securing of foundation pit of family house in given geological conditions situated in Brno-Kohoutovice. The aim of the thesis is to list possible solutions of securing foundation pits in general and solve this geotechnical problem with an appropriate solution. Static calculations were performed by geotechnical software GEO5.
Foundation of Apartment Building in Třeboň
Jurníček, Lukáš ; Glisníková, Věra (referee) ; Svoboda, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the theme of the apartment building foundation. Its objective is based on studies of expert resources and static assessment to design an appropriate way of building construction foundation. In the theoretical part of the bachelor thesis, the author is concerned with the most frequent possibilities of establishing common residential house, the area, and underground foundation on deep soils improved. In the second part, the author makes choice of a particular method of foundation (deep while using piles) and applies it to the calculation of the real structure. The static calculation has been described and consequently manually processed, and finally verified within the program GEO 5. The work also includes an overview together with a brief description of other information sources to be used for the creation of static calculation.
Design of the Foundation Pit for Apartment Building
Šobáň, Jakub ; Boštík, Jiří (referee) ; Glisníková, Věra (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis focuses on meeting of a construction pit forresidential building Kadetka in Brno. The purpose of this thesis is to design meeting construction and describe technological process of buiding the chosen construction type whichis in this work represented by once anchored meeting structure. This meeting structure was analysed in geotechnical program GEO5.
Foundation of Parking House
Kudelás, Jaroslav ; Boštík,, Jiří (referee) ; Glisníková, Věra (advisor)
The result of bachelor’s thesis is a theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes the foundations of the current options. In the practical part is specifically created static design of most exposed pile, technology and drawings specified object.
Foundation design of multi-functional building in Brno
Pospíšil, Jan ; Boštík, Jiří (referee) ; Glisníková, Věra (advisor)
The objective of thesis is to design and evaluate suitable foundation pit and in the establishment of multi-functional building on the street Smetanova 19 in Brno.
