Czechia und Russia: common origins, different branches. Selected problems of Czech - Russian research.

This thesis will focus on comparing the principles of genealogical research in the Czech Republic and in Russia. In the first part of the thesis, attention will be paid to the theoretical starting points of genealogical research, the similarities and differences of source possibilities, institutional patronage of similar research will be observed. In the second, practical part, three specific cases of searching for relatives will be described in the case when a Czech has Russian (respectively Ukrainian or Belarusian) ancestors, or vice versa - a Russian has his roots in the Czech Republic.
