Methods of reducing aerodynamic drag of automobiles
Šimbera, Michal ; Vančura, Jan (referee) ; Čavoj, Ondřej (advisor)
Thesis deals with description of passive and active methods of reducing automotive aerodynamic drag. Firstly is given theory of aerodynamics and its testing methods. Further, split by vehicle parts, passive aerodynamic components used in mass production and on research vehicles are described. Lastly, some components of active aerodynamic are given.
Pressure and Flow Rate Regulation Design for Pump-Tank System
Kovář, Jiří ; Němec, Zdeněk (referee) ; Svoboda,, Miroslav (referee) ; Březina, Tomáš (advisor)
The proposed work is dealing with control design of pump-tank system as part of broader water-supply network with using of mechatronic approach. The main goal of this work is design of control for regulation of flow, pressure and water level in tank in water-supply network of Vsetin city. This water-supply network consists of various components, such as pumps, pipes, valves, tanks etc. For the purpose of the control design is necessary to create a model of pipe network. The solution of hydraulic analysis is obtained by using the gradient method, which was implemented into the software solution named ADAM. The results of hydraulic analysis are compared with measured values of flow and pressure and difference of these values has to be minimalized by proposed calibration and verification process. The calibration and verification process was implemented in software ADAM. The essence of design control is formulating control problem as optimization problem. Therefore the output of higher control layer is set of procedural rules, which determines for example speed of pumps in time etc. Results were verified by using for this purpose developed computational server (ADAM Server).
Use of standard centrifugal pump as turbine
Podešva, Adam ; Franc, Zdeněk (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
This work deals with the use of a centrifugal pump in turbine mode and control of the system where this machine is operated. The introduction describes and divides the various types of pumps and discusses the issue of Euler's pump and turbine equations. The flow control options are also described here. Part of the work is a research that examines the advantages and disadvantages of using a centrifugal pump in turbine mode, the possibilities of using this system and real applications in the Czech Republic and in the world. The main part is the design of a mathematical model in Microsoft Excel, which solves the regulation of the piping system with a pump operating in turbine mode, especially out of the optimal operating parameters.
A Digital Network-on-chip Architecture Model for Diagnostics
Valachovič, Marek ; Bohrn, Marek (referee) ; Šťáva, Martin (advisor)
Due to increasing integration on the chip, bus structure for on-chip comunication is less and less advantageous. For this reason, Network on Chip (NoC) was created as a solution to this problém. In this work, the basic blocks of the NoC architecture are described. The model of this architecture called Nonfire is described in detail, both function blocks, from which the router is created, and the network Interface Connecting this router with the Processing Element.
On The Efficiency Of Precise Fault Localization And Identification In No
Valachovič, Marek
The paper joins the Bonfire NoC model, desrcibed in VHDL, together with a method of the precise localization and identification of faults in NoC and sums up a few findings about the efficiency of fault-tolerant NoC employing the method. A special focus is given to the area overhead and the mean time between failures in the presence of no or one permanent fault and some transient faults.

Generation of Intermittent Jet by Pulse-Modulated Synthetic Jets
Broučková, Zuzana
An axisymmetric air jet was excited using a pair of counter synthetic jets running in opposed direction. First, the control synthetic jets were measured alone. The driving signal was pulse modulated sinusoidal signal. After an adjustment, the primary axisymmetric jet was excited to the bifurcating mode, and its behavior was studied experimentally. For comparison purposes, a reference steady (unforced) jet from the same nozzle was also measured (Reynolds number was approximately 1300). The flow visualization and hot-wire anemometry techniques were used.
