Alloyed cast irons and their application in practice
Mokrý, Jan ; Pernica, Vítězslav (referee) ; Kaňa, Václav (advisor)
This thesis is dealing with alloyed cast irons. Cast irons are in principle casting better than the alloyed steels mainly due to their lower melting temperature. The thesis describes the influence of individual elements on the properties of cast iron, their ability to solidify stably or metastably and also about their subsequent suitable use. Since the alloy cast iron is less well known, therefore this thesis may be useful for students and engineers, especially because of the high and untapped potential of alloyed cast irons. This thesis, based on study of literature, summarizes their main types, advantages, disadvantages and the use in practice.
