Characteristics of girls in love in Lorca's theatre
POLANSKÁ, Kristýna
The core of this bachelor´s thesis focuses on the dramas of a Spanish poet and playwright F. G. Lorca depicting characters of young girls in love, who represent a type of character known as "innamorata" or "virgo". The author is going to analyse these characters and create an overview of their attributes. These qualities will be compared with older ones, created before the era of the theatre by F. G. Lorca. The author is going to determine the border of an older, classic influence on Lorca´s concepts and to find out points, where these contrasting forms diverge and converge.

Gozonová, Renata ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (advisor) ; Poláková, Dora (referee)
In my thesis, I focus on the evolution of the Spanish poet Federico García Lorca's poetry, from his stay in Andalusia to the period he passed in New York. At first, we present avant-garde literary movements of that age. In detail we focus on the Generation 27, whose Lorca was member, and on the poetry the poets cultivated. In Lorca, firstly, we take a look at his life, his personality and then we divide his production into two periods: Andalusia - we take look at his lecture about "cante jondo" and at two books, Poem of cante jondo and Gipsy romances. New York - we approximate to Lorca's stay in New York and the country, and how the environment was reflected in his book of poems Poet in New York. In conclusion we summarize both periods of his production.

The thesis focuses on two plays and one poetry collection by Federico García Lorca; El público, Así que pasen cinco an͂ os and Poeta en Nueva York, which together form the New York cycle and represent a new and unique phase in his compositions both from the point of view of content and form. The thesis concentrates on several distinctive motifs and themes related to the problem of human identity; ie the motifs and themes which discuss how to understand the individual or the human existence. This topic is reflected in the cultural context of Lorca's age, demonstrating that the atmosphere of the era corresponded with the author's personal perspective. The interpretation of human existence is strongly determined by the moment of death, therefore, the representation of death in the works and the related motifs are discussed in the thesis. At the same time, the similarity of Lorca's perspective with the philosophical ideas of the era is taken into consideration, with the emphasis on the philosophy of Martin Heidegger. In this context, we also focus on the author's relation to Christianity and the use of the Christian motifs in his plays and poems. In the following chapters, the motifs of mask and form are analysed. The thesis concentrates on the problem of the social mask, but also on the question of...

In the thesis "Contemporary Spanish Literature in the filmography of Mario Camus, The Beehive, The Holy Innocents, The House of Bernarda Alba" the focus has been on the reflection of Spanish literature in the work of an eminent Santander director Mario Camus. We have especially focused on comparing original works and their film adaptations, and on analysis of topics and values, which are mediated to the audiences. In the first chapter we have introduced Maria Camus as a person, his roots, and artistic tendencies. We have focused on the historical and cultural circumstances, which created the background for development of Camus' work and we have clarified the importance of the director in a group of new Spanish film. This group brought Spanish cinematography of that time a new view of presented reality. The second chapter provides a short introduction to literary and cinematic means of expression, clarifies their main differences and presents their terminologies, which will serve as fundamentals for the following chapters. In the main section, which comprises three chapters, we focused on the actual purpose of this thesis: that is the comparison of literary originals to their film adaptations, an analysis of each of the works. Based on its assessment we have transformed the specifics of the literary original...
