Improvement of Bit Error Rate in Free Space Optical Link
Novák, Marek
The article describes an inovative bit error rate reduction technique principle and its practical implementation. The design is implemented in an FPGA and can be combined with other more conventional BER reduction techniques. The presented approach benefits from properties of an optical channel which a general RF channel does not have.
Optical information transmission - transmission security
Kondicz, Dávid ; Čučka, Milan (referee) ; Filka, Miloslav (advisor)
The submitted work deals with issues of optical transmissions and its security. We will become familiar with a variety of transferability of information, based on which we can assess the advantages and disadvantages of each technology as compared to optical information transmission. Based on acquired information we will try to implement interception of optical communication of cable TV provider.
FSO transceiver for link quality estimation
RONJA TWISTER Based on FPGA
Matyáš, Jan ; Kaštil, Jan (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
RONJA is an open-source hardware project for an optical data-link device which utilizes a visible-light beam for wireless data transmission. This thesis focuses on a single electronic module called RONJA Twister, which forms an interface between metallic Ethernet and the optical transmission itself. The purpose of this project is to reimplement the original Twister module design in a backward-compatible manner using FPGA technology. Furthermore, the proposed and implemented solution enhances the module by incorporating the Auto-Negotiation capability which mitigates several issues of the original Twister module.
HVAC unit for optical head
Janošík, Tomáš ; Šotner, Roman (referee) ; Kincl, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of a HVAC unit for temperature regulation inside an optical head. The unit is completed by functions which optimize its reliability such as checking of fan, heating element, monitoring a supply voltage and saving operating information into the memory. The device communicates with PC via serial interface RS-485. There is also described the possibility to switch the unit to a manual mode, in which the temperature interval is setting by a potentiometers. Solution of this thesis is function prototype.
The System For Laser Beam Tracking And Communication
Skryja, Petr
The paper describes a system for laser beam tracking and communication with using one optical laser beam. As an active receiver element, improved tetra-lateral two-dimensional position sensitive detector S5991-01 is used, which is used both to obtain beam position and to receive transmitted data. A laser with a wavelength of 650 nm is used for data transmission. The transmitted data are coded with Manchester code. Position calculation, data receiving and transmitting is carried out by development board STM Nucleo H743ZI.
