Models Supporting Decision Making of a Tourism Destination Management
STUDENÝ, Zdeněk
This diploma thesis focuses on the application of system thinking and its methods to the issues of decision making within destination management and its organizations. The main aim of the thesis was to create a model to support decision making of destination management organization and to plan sustainable and responsible tourism development in the destination. A partial aim was to create a simplified model in which a simulation of the given system was performed. This aim has been applied to the destination of Cesky Krumlov. The contribution of the work is to find optimal decisions, policies and individual processes in order to assess the subsequent impacts and manage the development of tourism destination towards sustainability.
Simulation of infrastructure building impact on wine bar and candy store economic performance
Škoda, Dominik ; Krejčí, Igor (advisor) ; Horáková, Tereza (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the application of system dynamics to a small business, which has been affected by a sewage system construction in the past few years. The theoretical part of this thesis describes to a general description of system dynamics, including its history and development. It focuses on the definition of some of the basic terms used in system dynamics and specifies the difference between system and linear thinking. It also provides a description of tools used in system dynamics and a characterization of structures frequently used in practice and often used in complex models. The practical part gives information about the activity field and the conduct of the modelled business. It introduces modelled structures, created using Vensim PLE software, which helped to achieve the final aim of this Bachelor thesis. The stock and flow diagram scripts and the following result interpretation are included.
Application of system dynamics in selected municipality
Těžký, Vojtěch ; Krejčí, Igor (advisor) ; Horáková, Tereza (referee)
This work is focused on the application of the system dynamic in the selected municipal. In the first theoretical part is explained history, principles of the system dynamics. Furthermore, it is approached, its relation to systemic thinking, how it is necessary to change the view of the world and its functioning for the use of system dynamics. In the last section dedicated to system dynamics explains the basic archetypes of behavior. In the section that deals with municipal budgets are explained the principles on which it is based budgeting and also from which the components are made. The practical part is devoted to the assembly of the model and then evaluating the results of simulations of several scenarios. Two scenarios used for simulation were: Reducing expenditures for the proper repayment of debt, then the possibility of completing the pipeline network.
System model for analysis of applicant decision in project of CzechEkoSystem
Polák, Petr ; Mildeová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Král, Miroslav (referee)
System Dynamics is a powerful approach to understanding the behaviour of complex systems. This thesis is focused on a simulation model, that goes from principles of System Dynamics and the model will solve the problem of insufficient number of applicants that meet a specific set of project requirements, which are defined by the government agency, CzechInvest. The project, CzechEkoSystem, is mainly focused on efficient development of small and medium sized enterprises based on their pioneering business model. The thesis begins by describing the basic theories of System Dynamics that are introduced and elaborated on, within the particular tools of the simulation model problem statement. Then key terms about the CzechEkoSystem project are introduced. In the conclusion, results and recommendations for increasing the portfolio of pioneering small and medium sized enterprises are presented.
