Financial Crisis In View Of Czech Public - December 2009

According to December survey 75 % of Czechs think that economic situation of the Czech Republic became worse in 2009. 38 % of Czechs see as worsened living material conditions of their households. Two thirds of respondents feel that financial crisis afflicted their household and similar share see as affected their job as well. 50 % see the reaction of Czech government to present situation as bad, 33 % expressed opposite view.

In December 2009 CVVM SOÚ AV ČR investigated whether respondents trust to selected top politicians. They were given a list with 28 names of top politicians. In a survey there were included names of membres of Parliament, president, chairmen of Senate and Chamber of Deputies, leaders of political parties in Parliament, ombudsman and chief of Constitutional Court.
Party Preferences and Voting Model in December 2009

In December survey CVVM investigated how people trust to political Parties and whether they are willing to take part in elections to Chamber of Deputies. In the press release there are two different types of information : Party preference and a model of voting behaviour. Party preferences give us information about public sympathy with political Parties in the group of citizens who have voting right and there is also included a part of citizens who will not take part in elections or they do not knot who to vote for. Voting model indicate anticipated result of elections to Chamber of Deputies in the time of the survey. Voting model comes out of Party preferences but it includes only those who want to take part in elections and they answered us a Party they would vote for – in short this group does not include undecided people and non – voters.
Citizens on U.S. Anti-Missile Radar Base in Czech Republic - December 2008

According to December survey of CVVM SOÚ AV ČR 65 % of Czech citizens did not agree with planned deployment of U.S. anti-missile radar in Czech Republic, on the other hand 28 % of respondents would approve it. 70 % respondents expressed their opinion that this question should be decided in a referendum, 22 % of Czechs disagreed with holding a plebiscite in this matter. People who are against the referendum are for the most part supporters of idea to locate the U.S. anti-missile radar in Czech Republic. Majority of Czechs (69 %) expects that Czech parliament will pass the agreements on radar. 39 % of Czech citizens think that Barack Obama will continue with the project of deployment of U.S. anti-missile radar in Czech Republic continuously, 29 % expect some postponement and re-evaluation of the plan from new U.S. administration and 5 % think that Barack Obama will not have an interest to continue with deployment of U.S. anti-missile defence system in Europe and will freeze the plan to build the radar base in Czech republic.

Confidence in constitutional institutions and satisfaction with political situation in December 2007 In December 2007 within the regular survey CVVM SOÚ AV ČR, v.v.i., questioned respondents about their confidence in constitutional institutions. In this month there was a question about their trust to Chambers of Parliament, Government, President, Local and Regional Councils. As a part of the CVVM surveys there is a question about public satisfaction with current political situation in the Czech Republic. The regular survey of public confidence in constitutional institutions and satisfaction with political situation help to monitor development of public attitudes in the long term.
