Application of translation in education of the Czech language for francophone speakers

The thesis deals with the possibilities of the use of translation in education of the Czech language for francophone speakers. The thesis aims to analyse the use of translation in the textbooks of Czech for francophone speakers, in particular, to examine the types and representation of translation exercises in selected textbooks and to observe the use of communication-oriented translation exercises. Based on the analysis, the thesis formulates didactic recommendations that could contribute to more adequate use of translation in foreign language teaching, or rather in teaching Czech as a foreign language. The partial objective is to monitor the attitude of students to translation in teaching Czech as a foreign language through a questionnaire survey.
The Specifics of Teaching Czech for Greek Native Speakers

(English) This master thesis deals with specific approach to Greek native speakers whilst teaching Czech as foreign language. On the basis of typological comparison of Czech with Modern Greek it seeks similarities and differences between those two languages and draws conclusions for teaching. This paper also concerns with concepts of grammar, teaching methods and presentation of selected grammatical categories from the didactics point of view. The practical part of the thesis proceeds from the research focused on Modern Greek verbal system and suggests that one of the alternatives how to teach the category of aspect to Greek native speakers is using temporal-aspectual markers. The purpose of this thesis is to provide Czech teachers with linguodidactic recommendations facilitating teaching students of Greek origin.
Tandem Method in Teaching Czech as Foreign Language

The diploma thesis deals with tandem method in teaching Czech as a foreign language. It is a language learning in pairs or in a small group of students with different mother languages. The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and empirical. In the theoretical part social, didactic and lingvodidactic ways out of tandem method are described and we also specified the method. The summary of examples of the successful application of the method abroad and in the Czech Republic points to other possibilities of its utilization in our country. We organized lessons with using tandem method to do research. A questionnaire survey was used to obtain data. Basic benefits and limits of the method were found based on the data collection. For those interested in the method we form lingvodidactic recommendation for application of the method in teaching. We also propose the specific practical areas in which the method can be used. Czech of a Non-native Speaker (case study)

The thesis Czech of a Non-Native Speaker is a case study which analyses the use of the Czech language by a non-native speaker coming from Kazakhstan. It contains an introduction which deals with the theory of second language acquisition and the importance of language transfer in this field. The second part of the thesis analyses the errors in several written and spoken texts (resp. their transcripts). Errors are analyzed from a phonetic, morphologic, grammatical, lexicological and syntactic perspective, they will be described and explained with an emphasis on the influence of interference. The conclusion summarizes the results of the analysis.
