Profession requirements of crisis intervents working with crime victims

This master's thesis is dedicated to the topic of the demands of the position of crisis or trauma counsellors who work with victims of crime. The theoretical part describes the workload of crisis counsellors, espexially the thesis focuses on crisis intervention. The specifics of crisis intervention for victims of crime are also described. Thesis describes who is the victim of crime and what are the psychological effects of crime on the victim. Thesis also describes how to talk to victims of crime, what are the specifics of this intervention. Again the thesis focuses on the workload of crisis counsellors and the demands on this position. Furthemore, the thesis describes the characteristics of the position itself, it also focuses on the description of the workplace. In the next part, the thesis focuses on stress and its negative consequences, as a negative phenomenon that occurs in the work of counsellors. The social skills od crisis counsellors are also described, focusing on the characteristics of the crisis counsellor and on the key competencies. The relationship between stress and social skills i salso mentioned.
