Preparation of organic electrochemical tranzistors for biosensorics
Ehlich, Jiří ; Vala, Martin (referee) ; Salyk, Ota (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to describe the process used in preparation of organic electrochemical transistors thus biosensors for testing potential drugs aimed for cardiomyocytes. Then explore some physical properties of developed sensors such as adhesion of materials used, conductivity of developed structures and stability of developed structures in various water environments. As primary technology used for creating our OECTs was used inkjet printing of special inks with electrical properties on PET and PEN substrate cured with special treatment before and after printing. This thesis results in complete view on technology and development of biosensors we had created.
Electrochemical Biosensors Based on Silver Solid Amalgam for Analysis in Flow Systems
Josypčuk, Oksana ; Barek, J. ; Josypčuk, Bohdan
In this contribution, the construction and preparation of 3 types of flow amperometric enzymatic biosensors based on silver solid amalgam (AgSA) were presented. Two of them consist of the tubular detector and enzymatic reactor of porous or powdered AgSA. The third biosensor was constructed using polished AgSA electrode. Reactors and polished AgSA electrodes were modified with thiols or chitosan and different enzymes were covalently immobilized by suitable techniques. Prepared biosensors were used for determination of ascorbic acid, glucose, hydrogen peroxide, catechol, pyrogallol, dopamine and sarcosine in model samples and in same cases in the real samples.

Fluorescent nanodiamonds: The new platform for construction of chemo- and biosensors
Cígler, Petr ; Ledvina, Miroslav ; Tvrdoňová, Monika ; Řezáčová, V. ; Nesládek, M. ; Kratochvílová, Irena ; Fendrych, František ; Štursa, Jan ; Kučka, Jan ; Ráliš, Jan
Over the past few years, fluorescent nanodiamonds (FNDs) have been recognized as potential fluorophores for use in bioimaging, owing to their unique and attractive chemical and particularly spectral properties. The source material for their preparation, synthetic nanodiamond (ND), is non-expensive and commercially available. Notably, NDs have the highest biocompatibility of all carbon nanomaterials and their surface can be chemically modified by various techniques. FNDs are capable of fluorescing with almost quantitative quantum yields from point defects of crystall lattice - nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers. In particular, the long-wavelength emission, high brightness, no photobleaching, no photoblinking, and an exceptional resistance to chemical degradation make them almost ideal core for development of fluorescent bioimaging probes.
Surface plasmon resonance biosensors: present and future
Homola, Jiří
Optical biosensors based on the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) have become important tool for real-time study of biomolecular interactions and for detection of various analytes in fields such as food safety, medical diagnostics, or environmental monitoring. This paper reviews the present state of the art in the development of SPR sensor technology, discusses emerging trends, and presents selected results of research into SPR sensors at the Institute of Photonics and Electronics, Prague.
