Badatelsky orientovaná výuka robotiky
KLOFÁČ, Patrik
Newly conceived informatics focused on the development of pupils' computational thinking is constantly looking for new topics and new modern teaching methods to support active pupils. In the school environment, robotics appears to be a suitable educational topic for developing IT skills, competences, and computational thinking. Working with robots will not be beneficial if the teaching methods are used with passive pupils, and are merely transmissive, and instructional. For these reasons, it is necessary to look for new methods, and one of the possibilities is inquiry-based learning. In general, the subject of inquiry-based learning in informatics and also in robotics is practically unexplored, and it is not yet clear what to imagine under the heading of such teaching. Therefore, the research is focused on teaching the basics of robotics with inquiry-based learning tasks. The goal of the research was to create inquiry-based learning tasks for robotics lessons, and to find out whether inquiry-based robotics learning contributes to the development of computational thinking of second stage primary school (or middle school) students in these three components of algorithmization, abstraction, and evaluation. The work is based on qualitative research, using the action research method. Data collection was ensured by interviews with teachers, observation, and filming of students at work, along with student questionnaires. The results of the research provided an interesting and important insight into the structure of the creation of robotics research tasks, as well as the starting points for how to improve such tasks, and even what aspects to pay attention to in teaching. The findings can contribute to the development of informatics teaching.
Research - oriented teaching of Activity lessons on the first grade of primary school
POLICKÁ, Kateřina
The topic of this diploma thesis is research - oriented teaching of Activity lessons on the first grade of primary school. The first section is about the characteristic of technical education and part of this chapter is also the explanation of the term technic and technical literacy. Then follows the chapter, which is paying attention to the education plan and its educating areas, in which could be the research - oriented teaching used. Next chapter limits the term of the research - oriented teaching and acquaint us with its levels and phases. The last section of the theoretical part belongs to the characteristic of the methods of experience, trial and observation. In the practical section are five teaching suggestions for including the research - oriented teaching to lessons on the first grade of primary school. Inseparable part of every suggestion is preparation for the lesson with all of the necessary information.
Hydrological drought and surface water quality as research education on grammar school
Janečková, Petra ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Matějček, Tomáš (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the topics of hydrological drought and water quality in the school environment. The goal of the thesis is to create a worksheet using research-oriented teaching, on the above-mentioned topics. In the theoretical part, from the available professional and popular science sources, it characterizes both professional and didactic issues with the help of research. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis serves as a basis for creating a worksheet. In the practical part, with the help of a worksheet, it increases students' awareness of hydrological drought and surface water quality. The conclusion of the thesis discusses the students' results from the worksheet. Key words research-oriented education, hydrological drought, surface water quality, worksheet
Design and verification of an inquiry-based task on the topic of acids and hydroxides for elementary school students
Tomešová, Jana ; Chroustová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Rusek, Martin (referee)
This thesis looks into inquiry-based learning in chemistry classes at elementary schools. The objective was to design an inquiry-oriented task on the topic of acids and bases which would comply with the goals of inquiry-based science education while at the same time achieving the compulsory outputs of this topic, as defined by The National Curriculum. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the characteristics of teaching chemistry in primary schools and the definition of inquiry-based learning specifics. The practical part firstly describes the exact course of the proposed task. Subsequently, the results obtained in cooperation with eighth-grade students are verified and assessed. To evaluate the task, several materials were used: the outputs created by the pupils during the activities, the initial and final knowledge tests, and IMI (Intrinsic Motivation Inventory) questionnaires which focus on the students' perception of the task. Based on the obtained data, the task was evaluated from several points of view. The implementation of the task successfully led students to learn about concepts related to the topic, as well as various methods of pH measurement. The effect on their skills for planning and carrying out a chemical experiment was also positive. The shortcomings of the task, as...
Simple science experiments in kindergarten
JÍŠOVÁ, Diana
The bachelor thesis contains a set of simple research activities in the form of experiments, for each season for children in kindergarten. In the theoretical part of the work is the primary goal of the concept of science education within the kindergarten curriculum, research teaching and its possibilities or limits in pre-primary education. The practical part contains the characteristics of the target group, the way in which the didactic materials were processed, and the presentation of individual proposed research activities, including reflection after their verification in practice.
