Recycled material in Stone mastic asphalts
Motl, Vojtěch ; Coufalíková, Iva (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The Bachelor’s thesis deals with an issue of adding a Reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) into surface courses, especially SMA 11S. The thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. The theoretical part defines the term RAP and explains how to gain RAP and how to use it for a hot recycling at asphalt plants. The practical part deals with the design of asphalt mixture containing 30 % of RAP, the preparation of test specimens, the description of executed tests and the results of those tests. The results are compared with SMA 11S without RAP.
Issue of asphalt mixtures with coarse-grained aggregates
Koblížek, Ondřej ; Hýzl, Petr (referee) ; Dašek, Ondřej (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of asphalt mixture of asphalt concrete type for base courses with maximum aggregate grain up to 32 mm and investigates the influence of the amount of asphalt binder on the properties of this mixture. The theoretical part describes the problem of aggregate shortage in the Czech Republic and the division of aggregates into various categories. In the next part, the laboratory used tests (needle penetration determination, softening point determination, compaction degree, determination of the stiffness modulus, low temperature properties and wheel tracking) are described in detail. The practical part describes the used materials, the results of the laboratory tests, their comparison and evaluation.
Coarse-grained asphalt mixtures
Brida, Peter ; Hýzl, Petr (referee) ; Dašek, Ondřej (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on the comparison of the influence coarse-grained aggragate on the properties af asphalt concrete. The theoretical part describes issue of production and usage of asphalt mixtures. The practical part evaluates multiple types of asphalt mixtures and describing their properties. Stiffness by a two-point bending test, a wheel tracking test and low-temperature cracking and properties by uniaxial tension test were used to evaluate the properties of the mixtures.
Use of RAP in coarse-grained asphalt mixtures
Teslík, Jozef ; Dašek, Ondřej (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis examines the possibilities of using R-material in coarse-grained asphalt mixtures for ACP32 base layers. The theoretical part deals with the availability of aggregates in the Czech Republic and also solves the issue of producing asphalt mixtures with a higher content of R-material. The theoretical part also compares the use of R-materials in the Czech Republic with other countries. The practical part deals with the design, production and testing of selected mixtures. To determine the properties of the mixtures, the rolling wheel tests, TSRST and the determination of the modulus of elasticity were selected.
Asphalt concrete for very thin layers
Kubánek, Ondřej ; Frýbort, David (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
The aim of bachelor thesis is to gain experience with the design mixtures of asphalt concrete for very thin layers. Familiarizing with the properties of these mixtures, as porosity, water resistance and resistance to permanent deformation. Comparing detected parameters with the requirements of standard EN 13108-2 and its National Annex.
Evaluation of Low Noise Stone Mastix Asphallt with CRmB
Zavřel, Tomáš ; Frýbort, David (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
The aim of diploma thesis is to design mixture SMA LA 8 with crumb rubber modified bitumen (9,9 %) and a modifier additive TecRoad (22 %) and the test of water sensitivity, the resistance to permanent deformation and to frost cracking, the determination of the stiffness and fatigue characteristics. Test methods are described and evaluated.
Design of low-temperature asphalt mixtures
Líšková, Jana ; Zajíček, Jan (referee) ; Varaus, Michal (advisor)
In this diplomatic work, the issue of low-temperature asphalts and binders for asphalt mixtures is solved. Diploma work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part of diploma work, the purpose was to process a overview of technologies that allow the reduction of working temperature in the production and laying of asphalt mixtures. The purpose of the practical part was to comparison the functional parameters of two types of asphalt mixtures made in two variants, with the common asphalt binder and adding licomont into asphalt. Attention was given to stiffness, wheel drive tests and low temperature parameters.
Usage of foam bitumens in asphalt mixtures
Venclíková, Michaela ; Komenda, Radek (referee) ; Hýzl, Petr (advisor)
In this diploma thesis there are described the issues use of foamed bitumen as binder in asphalt mixtures. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The aim of theoretical part was to elaborate an overview of technologies, which allow to reduce the temperature during the production and laying of asphalt mixtures. The aim of the practical part was to compare the selected empirical and functional parameters of two types of asphalt mixtures produced in two variants, with hot bitumen and foamed bitumen. Attention was paid mainly to stiffness and low temperature parameters.
The influence of bitumen content on properties of asphalt mixture with CRmB
Sychra, Martin ; Frýbort, David (referee) ; Dašek, Ondřej (advisor)
The asphalt mixture BBTM 5 A with crumb rubber modified bitumen (CRmB) is designed and produced in the diploma thesis. The influence of CRmB content on low temperature properties, stiffness and fatigue of asphalt mixture BBTM 5 A is determined. The influence of asphalt mixture ageing simulation on change of low temperature properties is also evaluated.
Evaluation of porous ashalt and acphalt conrete for very thin layers with asphalt modified by TecRoad additive
Kaška, Zdeněk ; Telecký, Jiří (referee) ; Kudrna, Jan (advisor)
This work is focused on the design and determination of the properties of porous asphalt and asphalt concrete for very thin layers with TecRoad addition. The water sensitivity, particle loss, stiffness, fatigue and low temperature characteristics and resistance to permanent deformation are determined for a description of mixtures properties. Subsequently, the mixtures are compared and recommendations for use in maintenance and reconstruction of roads are prepared.
