Current Problems in 2D Numerical Modelling of Water Flow in the River Channels
Grmelová, Eliška ; Skokan, Jiří ; Juriga, Jan ; Chrástová, Veronika ; Pospíšilík, Šimon
Currently, the use of two-dimensional numerical models in modelling water flow in river channels and floodplains is quite common. The quality of hydraulic calculation results is influenced by the number of input parameters. However, crucial in this context is primarily the availability of calibration data. Commonly used data from historical flood records are often burdened with significant uncertainties and, in many cases, are completely lacking. One option to ensure suitable calibration data is to measure flow rates and velocity fields in selected calibration profiles, e.g., using the ADCP method (Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler). The presented article showcases the authors' experiences with the calibration of a 2D numerical model applied to a real location, specifically using the mentioned method. The focus of the calibration lies mainly in the values of Manning’s roughness coefficients and parameters of turbulent models. The conclusion of the article includes a discussion of the results and recommendations for further research directions in the field, which appear promising for practical applications.
Estimation of the Sediment Balance in the Selected Hydrometric Profile
Priesner, Radek ; Paseka, Stanislav (referee) ; Marton, Daniel (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis is to evaluate the balance of suspended sediment load, respectively undissolved substances carried in suspension in the selected hydrometric profile. The work also contains methodical instructions for measurement and subsequent evaluation of sediment load, based on the Austrian methodological manual Leitfaden zur Erfassung des Schwebstofftransportes (Habersack et al., 2017). The calculations will be used as a partial basis for the project ATCZ28 SEDECO – Sediments, ecosystem services and interrelation with floods and droughts in the AT-CZ border region. The practical application will be implemented on data measured in hydrometric profile Přibice on the River Jihlava where continuous measurement of suspended sediment load has been taking place since 2019.

Bathymetry on the small water reservoir Velky rybnik in the basin of the Litovicko - Sarecky stream
Zvonárová, Eva ; Bašta, Petr (advisor) ; Hradilek, Václav (referee)
The most important part is to perform measurements of selected water reservoirs in Litovicky - Sarecky stream. Selected small water reservoir is Velky rybnik, also called Dolejšak. The measurements were performed RiverSurveyor M9 device, and data were processed using the ESRI ArcGIS Desktop to a digital model of the terrain relief, which evaluates the clogging reservoirs in different places. This clogging is life threatening in the reservoir, but also around the water reservoir. The theoretical part contains the theme of small water reservoirs, their division and various applications. Then describes the methods of bathymetry, digital terrain relief model and interpolation and its methods. The methodology of bachelor thesis is processed measuring and finally in the results evaluated throughout the measurement. At the end of the work is the discussion and conclusion which will propose solutions to this problem.
Bathymetry of the small pond Dzban in Litovicko-Sarecky potok river basin
Linhart, Matěj ; Bašta, Petr (advisor) ; Pavlásek, Jiří (referee)
This bachelor thesis is about bathymetry measurement of small water reservoir Džbán in Litovicko-Šárecký river basin with ADCP based instrument RiverSurveyor M9. There is included digital model terrain proceeding of bottom of reservoir and water storage cacculation. In theory it is described basic notions connected with this subject as a definition of small water reservoir, their dividing, sedimentation and functional objects. Below it is fundamentals of bathymetry and interpolation techniques. Then description of reservoir area, functional objects and methodology which was used to getting final results.
