Free-time activities in village Sokol buildings in Czechia

The diploma thesis deals with usage of a Sokol building for free-time activities in countryside in Czechia. Due to the political situation in the 20th century Sokol building have lost their original purpose. However, it is a symbol of Czech history that reminds of the founder of Sokol movement Miroslav Tyrš. The thesis includes the study of historical and geographical development of Sokol movement and it also mentions its contemporary situation. To fullfil the goals of the work it was necessary to study the historical texts about Sokol and discuss the fact why we study Sokol in geography field, especially sports geography and geography of free-time. The outcome of this final work was to prepare and realize a school geographical project. Revitalization of an Industrial Facility School Geography Project

The graduating thesis (Bachelor of Science, B.Sc.), "Revitalization of an Industrial Facility: School Geography Project" is organized into two parts. The theoretical section addresses the theory and practice of critical thinking and project-based learning. I conducted a teacher survey in order to assess the utilization of project-based learning and critical thinking in elementary and high schools in the City of Krnov. The second part of the thesis proposes "Project Karnola 2020", to be completed by learners starting in Grade two. The project asks learners to develop possible utilization options of an old industrial facility deemed as a historic site, Karnola. The resulting proposal would be presented to the municipal government of the City of Krnov.

Benešovsko Region in the Second Grade of Primary School Education

The diploma thesis deals with the position of teaching the local region in the educational programmes. On the basis of empirical research, it summarises the findings of teaching the local region in primary schools and the lower grade of grammar school in the Benešovsko region. Based on the results of worksheet research, it compares the pupils? knowledge about Benešovsko region and then it tries to find the connection between the level of the pupils? knowledge and the ways of teaching this topic. The second part of the thesis is focused on the actual suggestion of teaching the local region concept. It contains a complete teaching material in the form of working textbook, suggestion of school geographical project, school excursion and methodological manual including time devotion and curriculum content, chosen teaching forms and methods and integral approach to education. The conception is based on the actual Framework Education Programme for Primary Education.
