Vliv teploty na pevnost lepeného spoje nábytkových hran z jehličnatého dřeva
Picková, Michaela
This work aims on the effect of temperature on the strength of adhesive joints of coniferous wood furniture edges. The objective of the research was to determine the difference between hot melt ethyl-vinyl-acetate (EVA) and hot melt polyurethane (PUR) adhesives. The main focus was devoted to the maximum achievable strength of bonded joints at different temperatures. The peeling test at an angle of 90 degrees and a shear pressure test at an angle of 45 degrees were performed to test the strength of joints to resist the stress. The data had been analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) method to compare the strenght mean values of glues with each other. The results show that PUR glue achieves higher resistance in peel as it withstood the stress even at 70°C. The oblique shear pressure test results were however not possible to compare because of exceeding the measuring range limit of the ripping device while testing PUR adhesive samples. Based on the data it can be summarized that melt PUR adhesive for furniture edge banding is more convenient than EVA adhesive which does not reach the required strength in both types of tests conducted.
Vliv teploty na pevnost lepeného spoje nábytkových hran z exotického dřeva

This dissertation thesis deals with the influence of temperature on the strength of the bond on furniture parts edges from exotic wood and particleboards furniture parts for the side panels. This theme covers the furniture that is during storage and transport exposed to high temperatures. It significantly affects the strength of glued joints with hot melt adhesives. This makes it necessary to pay attention when selecting the adhesive. It must withstand not only high but also low temperatures that occur during transport furniture. The practical part is focused on the problems of thermally stressed connections between the chipboard and furniture edge from exotic wood. Samples were edged by melt adhesive based on EVA copolymers, and polyurethane-based adhesive. Test samples were subjected to cyclic thermal loading that simulated conditions of the internal environment of the transport unit. Testing was used examinations peel and oblique pressure skid. The output data from these tests were evaluated between themselves and compared with edge finished by ABS edge. As a supplementary method was also used bending test, that examined the size of the internal stress in the veneer edge

Diploma thesis diels with the influence of temperature on the strength and the quality of the glued joints between beech edge and particleboard. The samples were tested in peel test performed at an angle of 90° and shear under compression loading at an angle of 45°. To perform the tests were made two sets of test samples. A set where the edge was glued with hotmelt adhesive EVA, the second set glued with hotmelt adhesive PUR. The experiment was conducted on samples stored in standard conditions and on samples being exposede to cyclic thermal load. Cyclic thermal load was used to simulate the internal environment in shipping containers in international transport of goods. The results of the measurements were processed, analyzed, statistically evaluated then matched with each other.

This thesis is focused on the effect of glue to bonding strength at DTD-L and ABS edge for increased moisture and heat interaction. This problems is concerned not only furniture, which is located in rooms with increased moisture, as are bathrooms and kitchens, but also furniture, which is exposed to these conditions in logistics during transport, storage etc. In this regard selection of right glue has a great impact on produce quality. This work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. There is description of methodology and formal view of problematics in the theoretical part. Experimental measurement of temperature and moisture conditions in interior and exterior are introduced in the practical part. Surface material DTD-L was used in practical part, when was tested strength of glued joints with using PUR adhesive. The samples were burden with increased moisture 90 % and 70 % and with temperatures from 25 ° C to 80 ° C. Subsequently was tested strength of gluent joints with using method of angle pressure shear angle-wise 45 ° and a peeling method angle-wise 90 °. The results were processed, analyzed and evaluated.
Vplyv lepidla na pevnosť lepených spojov za zvýšených teplôt s využitím metódy šikmého šmyku

This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of adhesive on bond strength of ABS edges and particle boards at increased temperatures. The issue also involves logistic operations, where furniture is exposed to extreme temperatures in both positive and negative directions while being transported or stored. The factor mentioned above is vital for choice of suitable adhesive showing the properties that have to withstand extreme conditions and comply with the required characteristics at the same time. The test was carried out using particular board sheet material that is commonly available and widely used in furniture industry. Bond strength was tested having applied EVA hot melt adhesive that was exposed to cyclic thermal load of 20 to 70 °C using the method of oblique shear and compressive load at 45°. The results of the measurements were processed and analyzed thoroughly.
