Reflection of parnassian features on the pages os Sládek's Lumír

This thesis is research-based and is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical and points out how the French direction of Parnassism manifested itself in the Czech literature, especially among the authors of the generation of ruchovci and lumírovci. Firstly, the term parnassism is introduced as a movement, and then it is introduced in the French context. This introduction is followed by a chapter on the manifestations of parnassism in the Czech literature. There it is explained how Czech literature approached parnassism and which Czech authors were influenced by it. The next part describes parnassism from the point of view of František Xaver Šalda, who retrospectively criticized both Parnassism and Parnassist authors, especially Jaroslav Vrchlický and Julius Zeyer. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with the concept of parnassism in the history of Czech literature and dictionary manuals, i.e. how individual literary historians approached this concept. The second part is practical and deals with the analysis of literary critiques from the magazine Lumír on selected works of writers, especially of the Lumír generation.
