Assessment of wildlife damage on the family farm Sedláčkův dvůr
BAXOVÁ, Anna
The thesis is focused on game damages on agricultural products and lawns, and their assessment. The theoretical part deals with history of hunting, sorts of damages on agricultural and forest growth, and the most significant furred game of prey. Further are described causes of loss, protection against them, their limitation but also dilapidation. The practical part features lands belonging to a family farm called ?Sedláčkův dvůr?, where were determine a loss caused by game, which were express in percentage. The incurred losses are analyzed at the conclusion. The most significant damages were caused on the lawn green . Lower damages were on the agricultural product.
Evaluation of agrotechnical related measures and methods in relation to wild pig damage.
OPAT, Roman
These days, wild pig, or wild boar, causes considerable damage in the Czech Republic, but also in other countries of almost the whole of Europe. The thesis describes the issues of damage done by the wild pig and the protective measures against this damage. The basis of the thesis was to measure the areas of damaged vegetation of unbearded and bearded varieties of wheat. Damaged areas on individual fields of both varieties were then compared with each other and evaluated. The choice of a variety, as an agro-technological measure against damage done by wild pigs, showed to be very effective. The damages that the wild pig did in unbearded varieties were not done in bearded ones.
Feeding of wild boar in hunts of Chlum and Sepekov
KOTALÍK, Tomáš
The bachelor thesis is focused on feeding of wild boar in two hunts. The first hunt which was chosen is the hunt of Chlum. The second hunt which was chosen for monitoring is the hunt of Sepekov. There were chosen two feeding places for monitoring in each hunt. The monitoring started in March 2009 and ended in February 2010. The monitoring of feeding should display differences between forest and mixed hunt. But the main reason was to find out the intensity of visits of wild boar in particular seasons pursuant to the influence of different factors. These factors were judged: climatic (snowfall, rainfall and temperature), the influences of sowing and harvest of agricultural crops during the year, the influence of collective hunting on wild boar near the feeding place and shooting on feeding places. The influence of feeding on the damages made by wild boar to fields was judged too. Localities were controlled twice a week. The feeding places were controlled by Ir-C cameras which were given on two feeding places once a week. These facts were found out by the observing. The intensity of visits on the feeding places is very different in particular seasons. The visit rate of feeding places isn´t influenced by the production of forest seeds in spring. We found out that the most favourite feed in this season was maize. Wild boar stays in agricultural monocultures in spring and on feeding places comes minimally. The popularity of particular sorts of feed depends on the term of their putting and hunting of wild boar in autumn and winter. We can avoid the damages to agricultural crops in spring, autumn and winter if we will have large enough forest in which we will be able to hold wild boar by feeding. The visit rate of the feeding place is influenced by the hunting near the feeding place, but the intensity of this influence depends on the scope of the hunting and the number of hunted members of herd which visited this feeding place. Wild boar visits the feeding place about two or three hours earlier in time of indigence. But during the rain it never appears on the feeding place.
Assessment of damage in game hunting LCR sp "Vápenice"
JOZA, Jaroslav
The objective of this graduation thesis was to find out the extent of damages caused by wildlife to the forest stands up to 30.6.2009 and agricultural stands during 2009 in the hunting district LČR s.p. (Forests of the Czech Republic) "Vápenice". The damages to forest stands have a large impact on the function and recovery of the forest, while the damages to agricultural stands have negative effects on farmstead. Hence the first part of this thesis is concerning with methods of protection of both the forest, and farm crops to prevent it from being damaged. In this graduation thesis, percentage outcomes of damage of forest and agricultural stands, which were caused by wildlife, are stated. The damage to forest stands in all age groups in the hunting district "Vápenice" reach approximately one half in comparison to damage rate of the whole Czech Republic. The damage to permanent grass stands is higher than the damage to cereals.
Evaluation of the agricultural precautions and methods in relation to the damage caused by the wild boars in the hunting district HS Záboří
ŠUPITAR, Josef
For the purpose of preventing the damage caused by wild boars on the field crops in the hunting district of HS Záboří, influence of the agricultural technology and other precautions on the amount of the damage is being investigated. The development of the damage on the field crops has been influenced by the size of the population of the wild boars and by the inconsistent agricultural technology in this area.
