Ideal and non-ideal predictors in estimation of Bellman function
Zeman, Jan
The paper considers estimation of Bellman function using revision of the past decisions. The original approach is further extended by employing predictions coming from an imperfect predictor. The resulting algorithm speeds up the convergence of Bellman function estimation and improves the results quality. The potential of the approach is demonstrated on a futures market data.
Different approaches to calculating TFP
Zeman, Jan ; Vltavská, Kristýna (advisor) ; Sixta, Jaroslav (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with total factor productivity and ways of its calculation. The first goal is describing theoretically the principles of total factor productivity and what it reflects. Subsequently the work uses the data available to test the ways of calculation while considering the hours worked and number of employees as an input. The thesis then names the advantages and disadvantages of individual kinds of input and further shows the calculation of direct and indirect method, comparing and assessing the two methods at the end.
Process analysis and proposal of their optimization in engineering company
Fikar, Vítězslav ; Říhová, Zora (advisor) ; Zeman, Jan (referee)
This thesis is focused on comparison of function management and processing management, especially their advantages and benefits. Using of processing management is introduced on practical example. There is made process analysis on chosen processes in engineering company. Detailed description of these processes is the result. Next step is searching of shortcomings and mistakes in these processes and trying to find solutions of them. The result is evaluation of these solutions and their benefits for company. Then there is proposal of introduction of solutions into processes in the company
Food intake of bream during the spawn period
ZEMAN, Jan
The main objective of this thesis was to assess food intake by bream, depending on the onset and end of spawning period. To meet the objectives of a practical experiment was carried out. This experiment was run on the dams Hamry and Brno in the years 2008 and 2009. Subsequently it was determined by standard methods. These methods (indirect, food frequency, filling index, index of superiority and gonadosomatic index. Subsequently, an analysis of stomach.
Study of senzitizers phototoxicity on molecular level and possibilities their use for photodynamic tumors therapy
ZEMAN, Jan
Photodynamic therapy is a modern and promising method of treating some types of tumors. It can supplement and in some cases even replace the current methods. It is based on the use of a photosensitive substance, a senzitizer, which is located in tumor cells and subsequently exposed to the light of an approporiate wave length, which brings about photodynamic reaction. Photodynamic reaction arises due to the combination of four agents: a senzitizer, molecular oxygen, light of optimum wave length, and a biological substrate (proteins, nucleic acid or other cell components). After the application of the senzitizer, whose prior uptake takes place in the pathologically altered tissues, visible light of a wave length corresponding with the absorption maximum of the photosenzitizer is applied, which brings about tumor cells destruction at active participation of the reactive oxygen forms as superoxide anion, hydrogen peroxide and hydroxyl radicals. My thesis was focused on testing photodynamic properties of ZnTPPS4 senzitizer on tumor cell lines. The production of oxygen reactive forms was tested by Synergy HT spectrofluorimeter and Olympus IX 81 fluorescence microscope with image analysis. Production of reactive oxygen forms was assessed with the use of molecular symbol CM-H2 DCFDA. LED emitters adapted for working with cell cultures were used to irradiate the cell structures. The results proved that ZnTPPS4 is photodynamically effective and the production of reactive forms of oxygen depends on senzitizer ZnTPPS4 concentration as well as on the dose of radiation.
Food of noncarnivor fish in newly filling dam Chabařovice
ZEMAN, Jan
Lignite mine Chabařovice is steadfast in process gradual flood, his area from year 2001 shoot up to 174 ha (2005). In incunabulum filling dam Chabařovice come to undesirable leak in cyprinids fish to dam, and that to danger development water quality. Deal with especially about these species of fish: Bream, Roach and White bream. In year 2003 come to other leak in undesirable species of fish to dam and it Rudd probably of small sedimentation tanks subleak from small dam in river basin and Ruffe from pothole Catherine. At discharge pond Zálužanský, who find over dam come to other contamination ichtyofauna dam with drain water. Of investigation ichtyofauna in June 2005 ensue from, that act especially about Roach and Rudd. Of result catching is obvious, that come to swab these fish. This fish are undesirable, because feed largely of zooplankton, who filter algae and germ and that counteract eutrophication. In essence goes about it, hold back occurrence undesirable species of fish, live on largely zooplankton and it effect predator fish were catching during ichtiologického investigation at season June and September. In laboratory were individual folders food determinantion and evaluate rake-off share individual component food.
Comparison of trading algorithms
Zeman, Jan
The paper continues the previous research of designing the trading automatic system. The paper deals with rating the quality of designed approaches. It reviews methods of rating from general to trading ones, and designs the rating algorithm, which is tested.
Multi-dimensional trading problem in multi-participant settings
Zeman, Jan
The dimensionality of optimization problem arising within multi-market trading task grows exponentially with a growing number of markets. To prevent the dimensionality problem, multi-market trading is represented as a multi-participant decision making problem with finite common capital. Each local DM task is a single-market trading enriched by an ability to share a part of local capital with other local DM tasks (participants). The paper provides formulation of the problem and basic algorithmic steps. The approach is illustrated on the real market data.
Výběr délky regresoru
Křivánek, O. ; Zeman, Jan
This research report is closely connected to the long time running research of the usage of the theory of Bayesian learning, stochastic dynamic programming and its approximations in futures dealing problem. This report describes tuning of one selectable parameter, which occurs in the new-designed algortihm called iterations-spread-in-time strategy. Experiment is done on real economic data on 35 selected futures markets. The main criterion of succes is the so-called net profit and also comparison with the previous experiments.
