Social farming

The aim of the thesis is to present the concept of social farming and to see if it is a suitable method of social integration of people with health and social disadvantages. It is an innovative approach that brings together two concepts: multifunctional agriculture and social services. The theoretical part of the thesis clarifies the idea of social economy and social business. It also focuses on social farming in the Czech Republic and Europe. It defines its theoretical background, actors and sources of funding. The thesis examines the link between agricultural activities and social work, benefits and limits of the concept for employees, farmers and the local community, and further focuses on the current problems that social farming in the Czech Republic is facing and that hinder its development. The data was obtained through semi- structured interviews. The results of the research showed countless benefits for all involved. The biggest disadvantage was the ignorance of the concept and the associated underestimation in society.
The roles of participants involved in foster care for a temporary period in Prague and the Central Bohemian Region

in English language This thesis focuses on foster care for a transitional period. The aim of the thesis is to describe the role of foster carers for a transitional period, OSPOD workers and foster family guides in period between the process of taking a foster child for a transitional period and re-transferring to a biological family or one of the long-term types of foster care. The thesis describes foster care for a transitional period and individual roles according to available literature, legislation, methodology and interviews with actors themselves. The partial goal is to find out how participants perceive each other, what they expect, what competencies they should have. Another partial aim of this work is methodological recommendation.
Construction of a new social service for multiple-problem clients

The bachelor thesis "Construction of social service for multi-problem clients" deals with barriers in the use of social services by apparent homeless people, maps their needs and proposes a new low-threshold social service based on obtained data from a qualitative survey. The new social service presents models to overcome barriers, addresses the legislative framework of the service, and proposes a type of organization that could deliver the service. Adaptation to homelessness

(in English): The content of the bachelor thesis is how the current homeless people have adapted to a homelesslife. In thetheoretical part the thesis deals with issues of homelessness in general, forms of homelessness, also the specifics of people without shelter, the adaptation proces for homelessness and organizations dealing with homelessness. The practical part of the thesis deals directly with the adaptive process of living without a home. This part of the thesis is realized by semi-structured interview with persons without shelter and case reports.
Forms of Intersectoral Cooperation in Field of Primary Prevention in Kladno

The aim of this thesis is to show how the intersectoral cooperation between state and non- profit sectors works in city of Kladno and whether it is possible to apply theoretical knowledge on the area. The ability of cooperation of the subjects is demonstrated in field of primary prevention of minors. Theoretical part of the thesis speaks about terms of intersectoral cooperation and primary prevention and offers a summary of the most common relevant theories. Research part is represented by analysis of collected data (qualitative dialogues) and clarifying particular forms of cooperation. The method used for collecting data is interviewing for eight subjects of state- and six subjects of non-profit sector. Final analysis shows the situation of intersectoral cooperation in Kladno and describes important qualities of subjects, usual problems and potential challenges for future development.

Significance of Philanthropy in community social work focusing on efficiency of performance Abstract (in English) The aim of this diploma thesis is the presentation of the subject of philanthropy in community social work. Special attention is however paid to the concept of effectivity of performance of social work. It is also endeavoured to delineate the concepts such as community social work, philathropy, quality of social services and measuring social impact. The main purpose of the research part of the thesis is exploration of the question whether there is a connection between effectivity of an organization and its success. In the commercial sector, success is perceived as long-term stability of the organization and its market prosperity. The aim of the research was to find out if this relationship holds true for non-profit sector or social services as well. The chosen strategy was qualitative research. The data collecting was conducted by means of individual semi-structured interviews. The main contribution of the thesis is the finding that the performance capacity of an organization is conditioned primarily by its staffing. More precisely, the more high-quality employes the organization has the higher performace it should achieve.
Using of coaching in social work.

(anglicky): The bachelor thesis deals with the phenomenon of coaching and its possibilities for using in social work. All the work is focused only on the micro level of social work, so it is working with methods of working with the individual. The thesis consists of a theoretical part, which mainly defines concepts directly related to the topic. Then their similarity is compared in accordance with chapters before. The second part - the practical part - was go through with interviews with the coaching respondents, the social work respondents and the respondents, both of whom meet these themes. Respondents were asked questions in the wording that corresponds to their work, that questions for respondents in the field of coaches had a modified wording, so they would ask about the essence of working with the client in coaching. Similarly, for the respondents in the field of social work the wording of the questions was adapted. Based on the evaluation of these interviews, not only the similarity of the two areas was confirmed but also the conditions under which coaching in social work could be used. Evaluation of selected low-threshold children and youth facilities

(in English): This diploma thesis deals with the theme of low-threshold facilities for children and youth. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and empirical part. At the beginning of the theoretical work, work with risky youth, the theory of risky behavior and its individual types is approached. In detail, a low-threshold facility for children and young people is introduced, including legislative anchoring, principles, target group and individual working methods. At the end of the theoretical part is described system of social services assessment and current events in this area. The empirical part contains research methodology, research results and evaluation. The aim of the thesis is to compare the facilities of the capital city of Prague and the Central Bohemian region and to compare the ideas about the goals of work between the managers and their subordinates. A qualitative method was chosen for the research, when data collection was carried out using semi-structured interviews.
Influence of the social workers organisations on the legislative process

Vliv organizací sociálních pracovníků na vývoj legislativy Bílá This research investigates the influence of social work organizations on the legislative process. The goal is to describe the legislative process and find out if the organizations aim to influence it. And if that is the case, what approach they are using. The aim was to map their effort on two different laws; The laws I chose are the Social Service act and the Professional law. Conducting this research, one finding was that social work organizations attempted the influence of the legislative process in both cases. But, the amount of activity was based on the will of law makers induction of social work organizations into the law making process. The type of activity chosen to influence the process varied based on the stage of the process.
Needs Analysis of the Management in the Counselling Centre for Citizenship/Civil and Human Rights

I ABSTRACT The thesis deals with analysis of the needs of intermediate management of non- governmental organization Counselling Centre for Citizenship/Civil and Human Rights, whose main activity is providing social prevention service in the Czech Republic. The main object of the thesis is to identify the needs of intermediate management and to settle mechanisms which could help the organization to improve more. The methods used for obtaining relevant data were SWOT analysis, marketing mix and cost-benefit analysis. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with basic terms related to non-governmental organizations with a focus to the Counselling Centre for Citizenship/Civil and Human Rights. The thesis furthermore identifies the needs of intermediate management, which are visible in need of better internal and especially external communication, where a PR specialist or PR agency should be of help to the organization.
