Awareness of women with endometriosis about influence of nutrition factors on this disease

Endometriosis is chronical, inflammatory and very painful disease which contains with estrogen. This disease affect about 10 % of female population in childbearing age. Etiology and pathogenesis of this illness is largely unkown. 20-40 % of women who suffer from endometriosis have concurrent problems with sterility and 50 % of women suffer from various forms of sexual dysfunction, the most common of which is pain. It is assumed that, that symptoms of endometriosis might be affected by diet interventions. Objectives of this thesis: 1. Determine awerness of women in fertile age with endometriosis about influence of nutritional factors on this disease. 2. Determine, if women with endometriosis were instructed by their doctor (gynecologist) about influence of nutritional factors on this disease. 3. Determine, if women with endometriosis changed their eating habits. Part of the research were 212 women with diagnosed endometriosis, which were addresed with using of questionnaire in Nemocnice České Budějovice and electronical questionnaires. Intergenerational Solidarity In Terms Of The Non-formal Care

The issue of eldercare has been increasing both political and public interests. Families are the main eldercare providers at present. At present it is mainly the family who provides care for elderly dependants. The aim of the thesis is to map this issue and to ascertain the eldercare development over the course of the years, the position of a caring family member and possible help by other family members and by the healthcare system. Population aging is currently an increasing problem in all countries. The Czech Republic also ranks among those states. The problem of providing elderly care is both present and future. It is important to provide the care system of elderly members of the society, which emphasises the key role of the support for caring family members. Independent care is also very difficult to ensure. The thesis deals with the issue of eldercare, the support for the family members caring for elderly dependants. Historical and current senior care development, actual issues affecting aging population and the influence on the quality of life of the caring family members are discussed in the thesis. The thesis deals with possible future development of informal care. The thesis also defines the terminology of the topic above mentioned, for example "senior age, aging", etc. Requirements for becoming a senior carer and ways of the care and elderly dependant needs and possible proposals for positive changes of the system are discussed.

People are not aware of the fact that we are living on the edge of a serious ecological disaster. One fifth of the population could afford to pollute our planet while these people are enjoying prosperity before the ecological problems begin directly to affect them, as the main culprits. The thesis is divided into seven parts. In the first part I analyze the roots of a conflict between culture and nature, the development of a relationship between humans and nature from the beginning of their existence and two evolutionary lines, cultural and natural. Further I explain the heart of the ecological disaster as well as an anti-natural characteristic of technology. In the second part I deal with the turning points in the evolution of technology. In the third part, I analyze the impact of technology and information on the time and the human labour. The fourth part is devoted to the analysis of the development of economy from the original gatherer-hunting economy to the today's modern economy. In the parts, five to seven, I analyze who is responsible for the depleted and devastated nature. Is it market economy, party politics or consumer society? The seventh part is engaged in the history of consumer society. The eighth part is focused on possible solutions to the conflict and on the ways how people could find way back and behave the way that they would not devastate natural systems from now. In the research part I am engaged in a question if we realize that our consumption of any various goods would have to be adequate and if we as humankind are willing lower our sights or if we are not interested in our future. I choose a qualitative research method for collecting data. A questionnaire is created for the purposes of my research. The questionnaire is divided into five parts focusing on social structure, transportation, consumption of energy, water and food. The research question is not answered clearly, the results differ in particular areas of consumption. In the area of transport 68 % of respondents use their own vehicle for the transportation to their work and they are not willing to change it. In the area of energy 69 % of respondents are not willing to lower the temperature while heating the rooms they live in. However, another result is more propitious. Only 26 % respondents of the quantity are not willing to invest into thermal insulation. 21 percent of respondents are not willing to refuse usage of domestic appliance or lower consumption of energy. Although the global scarcity of water is perceived as a serious or rather serious problem by 95 % of respondents only 56 % of them do not save water or they do not have any general knowledge about their own water consumption. Appliances saving water are not used and also would not be used in the future by 30 % of questioned people. 36 % of respondents throw away food into the waste but 80 per cent of them are willing to think more about what they buy and how they could use their unconsumed food. The thesis could be used by interested people (sociologists, teachers of ethics, etc.) as a research of thinking of common population and also as a foundation for thinking about nowadays values orientation of the society. Food supplements and iodine supplementation in pregnancy

Iodine is a trace element tremendously important for thyroid gland hormone production. It affects normal evolution of brain, especially in the time of intrauterine development and in the first year of child's life. Deficiency of iodine can lead to creation of pregnancy goiter, it also decrease the probability of carrying fetus to term and increase the probability of disorder in psycho-motoric evolution of child. Czech Republic is geographically lined up among the regions with lack of iodine in natural sources and food. However, nowadays the iodine deficiency is considered to be managed. But risk groups of population still exists, especially pregnant women can be endangered by lack of iodine, because the need of iodine intake in pregnancy increases to 200 250 ug per day and this level must be ensured. Consumption of food rich in iodine can cover the increased need of iodine. Significant source of iodine is milk and milk products. Another source is table salt enriched with iodine, but its daily intake is limited. Rich sources of iodine like sea fish, sea products and seaweed rarely occur in our diet. The goal of thesis was to evaluate intake of dietary supplements with iodine by pregnant women and evaluate women's awareness of higher iodine need and iodine food sources. Quantitative research in form of questionnaires was chosen for getting information from higher number of individuals. The questionnaire consists of 15 questions. Answers were gained from 118 respondents living in Central Bohemia, Moravia-Silesia region, Liberec region, region Highlands and South Bohemia. Questionnaire was distributed to gynecological ambulances by employees of State health institution. I visited gynecological ambulances in South Bohemia personally. By evaluation of questionnaire was found out that dietary supplement with iodine use 63 % pregnant women in researched population. All respondents always use only one type of dietary supplement. Among the most used belong "Chytré miminko", "GS mamavit" and "Femibion 800". 68 % of respondents know the importance of higher iodine intake in time of pregnancy. Question about daily recommended dosage was correctly answered only by 35 % of respondents. As a food sources of iodine the pregnant women know sea fishes, sea products, seaweed and table salt enriched with iodine. But 90 % of respondents are not familiar with milk and milk products as important source of iodine. Pregnant women should be better informed about importance of sufficient supply of iodine and about sources of iodine by gynecological ambulances. Information about mentioned issues should occur in magazines, education materials and internet articles more often. Respondents were notified of issues and important role of iodine in time of pregnancy by questionnaire. It is very probable that women found correct answers on the internet or in publication for expectant mothers after filling in the questionnaire.
