Czech Citizens About Quality of Health Care

In December 2011, Public Opinion Research Centre enquired about health care and health care system. We were interested in satisfaction of citizens with health care and change of quality of medical care during the last year. Czechs were asked a question about current status of their health and should answer, whether doctors and other medical staff give the clients enough information about medication.

Prestige of Occupations

In its regular survey ‘Our society’ in June 2011 the Public Opinion Research Centre focused on the reputation of 26 selected occupations. The most prestigious occupation according to the opinion of the Czech population is a medicine doctor, followed by a scholar, a nurse, a university educator and a teacher on basic school.
Satisfaction with the situation in areas of public life

In January this year, citizens of the Czech Republic evaluated how satisfied they are with the situation in selected areas of public life.Citizens of the Czech Republic are the most satisfied with the offer of goods and services (72 % satisfied), culture (62 %) and environment (48 %). Czechs are dissatisfied with the corruption (84 % dissatisfied), economic crime (78 %) and the political situation (74 %).
Czech Public on Global Environmental Problems - May 2011

Within its May survey, Public Opinion Research Centre focused on the environment. The survey also investigated how Czech citizens evaluate relevancy of some problems related to global environment. As a most important problems were marked cumulation of garbage (93% „very + quite important problem“), polution of drinking water (91%), lack of drinking water (85%) and disappearance of rain forests (83%).

The impacts of EU membership on the Czech Republic - April 2011

In April 2011 CVVM investigated on the membership of the Czech Republic in the European Union. Informants were asked to evaluate positive and negative efects of membership and the impact of membership on chosen areas of public life. 77 % agreed that EU membership helped Czechs to work, live and study in other EU countries. 79 % said that membership increased the level of bureaucracy in Czech republic. 65 % agreed that membership brought a lot of money from EU funds to the country. Economical migration of czech skilled workers to another EU countries was agreed by 58 % of informants. On the other hand only 36 % claimed that EU membership is a danger for Czech culture.
